I've had trouble keeping it straight when attaching (not a problem with the product, it's all me!), so this time drew a faint line down the door frame to follow, and that worked pretty well. It says 3M on it but I've been a bit suspicious as to authenticity - maybe it is, maybe it isn't. The roll I bought a couple years ago left residue from the backside of the tear-off strip so looked a little unsightly. This roll did not have that issue - worked perfectly and looks good.

A: Do you mean using it on the outside of an entry door? Adhesives usually breakdown much faster when exposed to outdoor elements.

**Q: How do I know which size to order?  Is the largest size for door bottom?**
A: Measure the gap is the best way, giving the tape enough room for full coverage and an equal flat surface for sticky side adhesion.

**Q: how thick is the tape in inches or mm?**
A: It's less about the thickness (for me) than it is about the durability. It simply does not stick to a cold metal door, which is precisely where many need it to adhere to. My advice is to manage your expectations with this product. It's for smaller air management (household temperature) needs.

After installing a pet door in my sliding glass patio door, I ended up with a little more than a 1/2 inch open gap between the inner and outer doors. This weather stripping seemed to be the perfect solution to prevent the wind (and bugs) from blowing through the gap. It was easy to install and sticks well. I cleaned the surface first with alcohol wipes to ensure it would stick well. Note that it DOES leave behind a residue when removed. I found that out when I removed it to reposition it.
