"This is one of the best CDs I've heard in a long time- a compelling compliment to a massage session. The music slows down your brainwaves and induces a peaceful, calm and meditative state, which assists in healing. A must for massage therapists. - CREATIONS MAGAZINE "Serene flute melodies with tender harp, subtle keyboards and soothing guitars raise up from a backdrop of gentle nature sounds in this gorgeous release from sound healing pioneer Dean Evenson. Assembled from previous releases and also including four new compositions, this soothing collection creates a deeply relaxing atmosphere that is invaluable in increasing the healing benefits of a good therapeutic massage session. As a matter of fact, this CD creates a musical environment that is so relaxing and refreshing that it almost makes the massage table and attached masseuse obsolete! Accompanied by the phenomenal Soundings Ensemble, Dean's ethereal flute expressions take the listener on a healing voyage that quickly distances you from the troubles and concerns of daily living by the medium of his beautiful musical soundscapes. Expertly mastered to further enhance the healing qualities of Dean's flutes and keyboards, Dudley Evenson and d'Rachael's harps, Phil Heaven's viola, Scott Huckabay's guitar and Tom Barabas' piano, Sound Massage could soon stand as the premier musical release for massage therapy, stress relief and relaxation. Definitely a "must have" for massage therapists and anyone in the healing arts, Sound Massage easily receives my highest recommendation to all lovers of beautiful, peaceful music." -MUSICAL SOUNDSCAPES by Rev Robert Walmsley

Very, Very Soothing...
This is a CD I want to fall all over an love on. But, given the problem it has had since day one, I should totally be rating it lower. But, I'll get to why I didn't in a moment. So I bought this 3 years ago, but because life got just a little crazy for me around that time, I didn't get around to writing a review at that time. But today I was at a practice and philosophy training for my son's music therapy, and it reminded me that you know, it would be a good thing to nurture myself a bit right now with some sounds that are balm to my soul, and this is one of the CDs I pulled out. And this in particular I wanted to try some songs tonight, because I was hoping it would help mellow out my little man before bed time. But initially, I bought it because I heard "Floating to Forever" on one of my Pandora stations, and I just fell in love with how relaxing that song was. And at that time, I needed all the help I could get in that department. Boy, did I.Anywho, So you hit track one, Mating Call, and it indeed does start out sultry, transitions into notes of longing, exhilaration and enticement, and I thought...ok, appropriate name. You hit Harmonic Heaven, and it is so super soothing I wanted to melt into a puddle onto my couch, and only thoughts of all the things that could go wrong with my son kept me conscious. Yah, it's that mellow, even my little guy tonight grabbed my hand and tried to drag me to his bedroom door halfway through it. Score!Next up, we have Touch of Grace, and it starts out with tones that evoke images of innocence and rebirth for me, sun dappled forests, and then a very abrupt, nasal "ee, ee, ee, ee" as the CD gets stuck and won't progress forward. That's the problem it's had since day one, when it came with a broken case, and I'm guessing that the small scratch that happened during shipping damaged that part of the CD. It is of course, very jarring when it occurs, and given that this is a CD to promote relaxation and healing...I can't just lay back and relax, I have to make sure I skip track 3. Because a stuck CD and the noise it makes is definitely a tension producing noise for me.I do find the remaining songs to be enjoyable, soothing, and relaxing. And if I weren't typing right now, I'd probably be zonked out. It's that soothing. I should probably rate it lower given the scratch and the damaged condition it arrived in, but I've put up with it for 3 years, so I figure...you know, I just value the rest of it, life was crazy, and these things can happen. Things were crazy enough at that time that returning things wasn't anywhere on my horizon, and I don't want to hold this too much against the CD, when it could have happened during shipping. But it does effect my ability to fully enjoy and use the product, hence the deducted star. Otherwise, I totally love it.

Super Peaceful Music!
There is nothing Dean and Dudley have done that I don't like! A genuine master of peace and tranquillity. If those are two things you want to bring into your life then I cannot recommend Deans music enough. Special thanks to all the sellers who are helping to bring this!
