Great chest pack for short excursions; needs second pocket.
I really want to give this 5 stars, because I absolutely love this pack for what it is: a small chest pack for short outings. I have used it for nearly 12 months, and I can say that it is incredibly comfortable, lightweight, and almost big enough to carry most of your needs for 6 hours, so long as you plan to focus on one style of fishing. The only negative (other than being small, which is actually its purpose) is that it only has one compartment. In that compartment, there is a little pouch, where I stick my fishing license and a few other things. The problem is that there is just one main compartment, and there is only one zipper. To open that zipper, you have to fully open the compartment. If that compartment is full (it will almost always be full because it's small), it is easy to have stuff fall out. When you have a fly box, tippet spools, etc etc, there is just no way to organize them inside. You really have to dial in your organization to get around this. If Umpqua would come out with a newer model that adds a second, slim compartment for holding your phone, license, and other gear that you don't frequently access, this would be a phenomenal pack; again, not the size, it's the organization. That said, it's a great pack. However, I've decided to upgrade, not because of the aforementioned negative, but because I need to carry a water bladder too, and I just don't want two separate packs. So, I upgraded Umpqua Overlook ZS2 Chest/Backpack kit. I received it today, tried it on, and I love it. It might have too much space for my small stream needs, but it checks all of the other boxes, and is almost as comfortable as the Rock Creek.

Very comfortable during hikes throughout dense forest
I am a wild life/forestry tech. I bought this chest pack so I can have easy access to my tablet, note book and pens while keeping them secure so they don’t fall and get lost etc. I hike through dense forest and ride a quad everyday/night. While doing so I have to use my tablet for the GIS system plus my note book to write on it constantly. This pack has proven to do the job right and the material is great, very resistant. I am absolutely satisfied.Shipping was also fast. 🤙🏼

Perfect Stalker Pack
Light weight, durable, and great for hot days on the river. Perfect size for a run and gun trip.

Great pack! Just a bit small.
This is a great pack, the only thing is it's small. No complaints other than that.

Good size for the minimalist, not right for me.
This is a nice little pack. Feature packed, there are lots of attachment points for lol the small tools we carry while fishing and good sized pouch for a couple of small fly boxes. Unfortunately, at the end of the day I find my back hurts. I don’t know if it is the harness design or my body shape, but I can not seem to make it fit so that I can wear it comfortably for more than a couple of hours.

Why carry everything when you can carry what you need?
This chest pack is a game changer. I've been weighed down by a vest full of unnecessary gear for years. This pack has allowed me to taper down to what I'll actually need on the river and everything is situated for quick retrieval.

Minimalist? Then buy it
I have been looking for a minimalist chest pack that has the attachment loops i need, a D ring on the back. I've ordered the fishpond one and many others. This is the one for me, so I bought 2 ...
