Well built, just designed poorly
Construction is excellent. Rubber helps prevent the grader from moving around. Doesn't rust. Good value. Would get 5 stars if it wasn't semi unless. Look at the pictures. Three grading holes at the top. seven at the bottom. I purchase my cheese in blocks, usually at Costco. The blocks of cheese are much wider than the three holes at the top. End result is, I have to move the cheese to grade left and right to get it to grade evenly. Very poor design by somebody. They knew quality construction, but just never used the darn thing for grading a block of cheese. There should be a law that anybody that ever designs something has to actually use it a few times before it is actually put out to market. This is one of those items. If it was made square instead of tapered at the top, I would give it 6 stars out of 5 if I could. As designed, 4 stars.

I thought I would like this box grater more than I do
I thought I would like this box grater more than I do. I think, after using a regular one for a gazillion years, this one is just big and will take some getting used to. I don't like the attached container-it does not have a snug enough fit and if I slant the grater, it pops off. This one is okay enough that I'm not going to replace it but I would not repurchase it as it's just too big.

5 STAR product 5 star customer service
To start, this company has the best customer service. It's a small company, but they value their customers and make sure you are completely satisfied.I purchased this grater with very high expectations, after loaning out my previous grater and never receiving it back. It had been my favorite grater, and I had bought so many since, that I had been disappointed with. After reading the reviews from others, they were mixed and I purely bought this because of how it looked (it resembled my previous one) and went only on the positive reviews.I was not disappointed at all. I have used my grater several times now and even wash it in the dishwasher. It meets all my expectations and more. The deep base means I don't have to dump the contents as often. The non-slip base works great and doesn't move across my counter or platter when grating. The handle is easy to grip and hold and whatever I'm grating cuts with ease. Others mentioned rusting and such, and I personally don't foresee this being an issue. It's made very well. I've had many graters though and use them very often, washing them every time in a dishwasher and have never had a grater rust. Other graters have the top handle break off, which poses a safety risk and this one is again, very well made and I highly doubt that with its design and quality, this will ever be an issue. The product and customer service have excelled my expectations and it's always great to support small businesses as well.

Good design and construction!
I researched graters fairly extensively for adaptability, features, & usability. I settled on the Oliver & Kline model as it seemed the easiest to hold, use, and its multifunctionality. Although the old kitchen standard box grater was very similar, my old one flexed and rapidly clogged up inside, as there was no place for the gratings to go except to build up inside. The Oliver & Kline has the plastic box which serves as its stand, and the gratings fall into the box. The box's lid can be used to store the results, as well. The box with lid fits beautifully inside the grater for storage when upended and inserted into grater's bottom. The handle is easy on the hands. The molding along the bottom is fairly non-skid, so the grater remains in place while in use, and both the handle and bottom molding hold the metal sides in their proper shape while in use. This is a huge improvement over the standard old box grater, and a great addition to our kitchen.Oh, and it's grates (rock!) hard and soft cheese like a champ--the only use to which I've put it, so far. Thanks, Oliver & Kline! Good design and construction!

IF IT WERE POSSIBLE, I'D GIVE IT 6 STARS!!!
If it were possible to give 6 STARS, I would. I can't say enough about this grater. This is a well built, well designed product. When you grate the food, it goes into a plastic container with a lid for storage of leftovers. Well worth the money!!!! Not like your typical cheaply made product. Now for my husband's comments: "My wife bought a cheese grater for me to replace one that was broken. I guess you can say I am the “Chef de Maison”. I would like to provide my feedback on your product. First let me say I am completely satisfied with the product. It is well constructed, solid and easy to use. What struck me most was whoever designed it thought about how it would be used and the issues like shavings and gratings that are produced. The design of a plastic container that fits into the grater and catches the shavings is fantastic. It also has a fitting plastic cover to store those shavings for future use. As a product it grates the hardest cheeses and vegetables with no problem. It has three sides that provide different sizes of fineness plus one side to do shavings. My Kudos on a fine product."

Handle fell off!
I bought this in late 2015 or early 2016. On the plus side, the blades are very sharp, and the metal is sturdy. On the minus side, the top handle just fell off one day. It appeared to have been glued on. I glued it back on, and it came off again in a week. I used it a couple of times a week, so it gets a good workout. Still, I had my old grater (a cheap grater from the grocery store) for so many years, I can't remember buying it; I'm positive it lasted well over 15 years. The metal was flimsier and the blades weren't as sharp, but it did its job just fine, and the handle was bolted on. Oliver & Kline's grater should be sturdier for the price. I'll try a different glue and see how it goes, but I shouldn't have to be repairing it at all.
