Recommend for active rest days, older folks, or prototyping moves for heavier bars. Wipe first.
The 3-pack (10/15/20lbs) of bars came in good condition. (Note: See last paragraph of review for one minor, resolvable issue.) I have used a variety of weighted tools for exercise, and I find these 4-foot-long weighted bars uniquely useful for a more balanced, whole-body approach that works better for me than, say, one-handed dumbbells or longer/heavier barbells. I feel as though I am more balanced in my workouts when using the bar, and that I get to enjoy the exercise for longer because the weight is padded and lighter than a standard barbell. I've had fun listening to music or watching entire TV shows while I play around with the bars in the following ways: - Mimic paddling a kayak - Twisting while upright, pivoting foot at end of turn, bar on back - Twisting with knees bent and feet firmly planted, bar on back - Overhead pressing (fast or slow) - Letting it rest on my back while walking - Mimicking certain motions as if it were a one-handed dumbbell - Playing with hand position on simple holds for grip strength (hold in middle = easy; hold nearer to one end = much harder) I intend to discuss with older family members about whether they might integrate this tool into their own fitness-maintenance workouts given its higher safety profile (more balance, safer to drop, more padded). Older folks who are highly sedentary and in need of blood flow often are unable to get a weighted fitness regimen started, and yet, I suspect using weighted tools is better and faster for strength maintenance and blood flow because workouts can be shorter yet more stimulating. Standard barbells are often out of the question for older folks, but something like the 8-10lb range of this item should be fairly safe for even an elder user to perform actions, even with a none-too-strong caregiver or family member watching over them. Because this item is a long bar, the difficulty of exercise can be modified to an easier level such as by leaning the bar against the ground or changing the grip position. Cost considerations aside (caregiving is already expensive, but the hope is that increased physical ability via weightlifting helps to improve quality of life), even starting with 8lbs and moving to 10lbs in time represents a 25% improvement in ability. When you're young, +2lbs is nothing, but when you're quite old and barely able to hold yourself upright with a walker or barely able to lift the walker over an obstacle, it could be something quite important for safety or independence. Turning back toward younger users: This tool seems like a good way to start working on form in progression to higher weights (such as eventually with barbells). Even for experienced, heavy lifters, this tool also provides ways to practice form on rest days. For novice weightlifters, it offers a way to prototype motions with longer or heavier barbells. (For example, if you've never done overhead presses, and you start with "just the bar" which might be >40lbs, you might not yet be strong enough to safely perform the move in a fully fluid, non-jerky fashion. Yes, jerky motions do come into play with more advanced weightlifting, but as with grammar: You need to fully understand the rules before you can know when to break them and why. I decided to write a longer review that almost sounds like an advertisement because I do like this product but think it's too expensive. I'm hopeful that if it becomes more popular, price will decrease (economies of scale or via competition). I'm not loyal to the company that makes/distributes this tool, but I am grateful this tool exists now in this form in a way that might benefit people in my life (particularly older would-be users who need to maintain strength as they age or improve bloodflow). Lastly, I want to note a temporary problem: Initial use of this item led to a powdery black coating on my hands, removed with soap and water. Before next use, I wiped each bar thoroughly with a wet paper towel, then dried, and repeated until the drying towel came away visibly clear of residue. Before cleaning: One bar was mostly clean of this residue; one bar had a moderate amount; and one bar had a significant amount of residue. After cleaning: Issue seems resolved.

12 lbs is just right for me. Excellent device. Be sure to pick the right weight FOR YOU.
I got this on sale 40% off so hard to complain at that price. If I'd paid full price I'd still have no room for complaint, but at the sale price I'm quite happy. I first purchased a 20lb bar, figuring that was "light". Methinks most people don't realize just how heavy 20 lbs is if you're not used to weight work. When starting out with one of these I'd recommend 5 or 8 lbs, depending on your body size and existing strength. (In other brands, 6 or 10 lbs might work well.) For me, 12 lbs is just about the limit. It is by no means "light" when you're trying to do pole-based exercises. It carries enough weight to challenge you. So it's not only good for toning but also for strength building. If you just want to tone I'd go with 5 or 8 (or 6 or 10 in other brands, as this brand doesn't carry those weights singly). I do love the concept of a bar weight. The weight is distributed evenly. It can be used in a variety of methods, so strengthens your muscles from just about any direction. You can simply hold it in both hands and (if possible) do squats (be careful of your knees) and thus strengthen your legs. You can bend forward and strengthen your core muscles. Over your head with both hands. Curling. Hold in one hand and lift up and down, then move your arm straight forward or fully extend out to your side and try to lift it. If you have trouble, rest it on the floor (gotta love the rubber caps) and see how far you can lift it off the floor. Sit in a chair and do arm exercises. These things are very versatile, and for a 70 year old male not used to exercising... 12 lbs is just about perfect. For others my age and less fit, 8 lbs (or even 6) may be a wiser choice. As always, if you're not sure, ask your doctor. The money I spent on that 20lb bar is currently wasted... until I build up my strength with this 12 lb one and can graduate to 20. (Yow seriously, there is a LOT of difference between 12 and 20 lbs). (Note: for elderly ones who can still lift weights, the 5 + 8 + 12 set should be just about perfect. If you're weak or lose balance, ask your doctor to advise you on chair exercises. Wisely recognize your limits. I did not when I bought that honkin' 20lb bar... Which is why I now have the 12lb version. ;D )

Excellent quality and durable design
This is an excellent-quality 25 lb weighted bar. I really like the fixed weight, and thick and padded exterior, which makes it comfortable to use without having to deal with adding or removing plates. I liked this brand so much I purchased the other weights as well. The ends are also durable, which is a nice detail. I can lean the bar upright against something without worrying about damaging the padded section. It feels sturdy and well made, and it works exactly as intended.

Multi-use weighted bar
This weighted bar is better than I expected. Itโs nicely and thoughtfully made with a cover on the bar that makes it comfortable for use on shoulders and easy to grip for arm work. Itโs not too long, but perfectly long enough for multiple exercise uses, allowing for a complete workout at home, without too many bulky pieces cluttering my home. Iโve ordered two bars so far, and plan to add other pieces to my collection from this company.

Simply a Good Product
This weighted bar is well built and feels good in the hand with a soft plush foam outer coating. Overall feels nicely balanced and the cubic end pieces keep it from rolling when you set it down. Definitely a good choice and safer option to put in your home gym if you are not going to have a bar and plate set. I am planning to buy the heavier ones as I increase my home gym training. Highly Recommend.

quality bar, wait for a good price
Good quality and weight. Too expensive, but I managed to grab it on sale for less than $20. It wasn't especially well packaged, the box was basically torn in two by the time it got to me, but the bar was undamaged, so it seems pretty durable. I am using the bar in combination with resistance bands. For certain lifts it helps to overcome the initial slackness of the bands, adding some load at the shortest bands lengths and thus tension to the full range of motion. It's heavier than a 60 in. Olympic barbell, and obviously shorter than a full-length bar. Also, it is very thick compared to a normal bar, which I like (I frequently use fat grips on thinner bars). That said, if you have the space and already have an Olympic bar in the garage, then I would just stick with that. This is convenient for me, living in an apartment without much space for equipment. This bar is great for adding a some load to a squat or lunge. As alluded to above, can add a little load to banded curls, rows, and presses. I need to find some other uses that are unique to this type of bar. I wouldn't pay $60 for it, but it was a bargain at less than $20.

Nice home work-out weighted bar with safe grip for beginner to start
I was hesitated before of purchase a weighted bar, this project was not as expected as I only used a few simple dumbells as shown. This shelf is designed for adding weight onto a bar sticker and put on a clutch. I would say this purchase make me very happy now. I could let this practice become realistic by following the three principles: stretch first then heavy weight bar. Use the weight from 6 Lb, 8lb to 12 lb. So I purchased 10 Lbs, meanwhile, I would consider buying a lower weight one. Third just weight lift with some knee protection if you want to do a bow step by lifting this bar.

Good for lighter workout in between gym classes
This is a lighter 5.4 kg weighted bar, and just right for keeping active in between gym classes without over exerting the body to soreness. I do Body Pump 1-2 times a week, and this is ideal for maintaining home fitness at a lower but regular intensity. The bar is as it appears, very thin, so easy to store leaning upright or laying on the floor without taking up much room space (unlike some typical studio Pump equipment which include the bar and various separate add-on weights). This bar might be heavy lifting depending on what KG you get, but you'll need minimal storage for it. If you use a heavier bar and workout for a while, this may actually provide a very high intensity workout. Even with my 5.4 kg size bar, it still provides a lighter but regular workout to help ward off a sedentary lifestyle. Every little helps.
