extreme amount of info
This covers all you need to know this skill set. Even covers physical training and the analysis of where to strike.

Just buy one if his books
His books are not bad. The issues come when you read more than one of his books, they're all the same in different order, and with different covers. Bit scummy of practice, I guess money comes before integrity.

Not Really About the Targets, at All.
I was expecting a book on "Knife Fighting Targets." That's not what this book is about. It's about fighting with a knife. I found more online about targets, in one webpage, than in this book. The webpage gave me: the targets, the type of attack (slash or stab) needed, the effects, the time factors for simple wounding, bleeding, immobilization, and death. None of that is in this book. I am very disappointed.

VERY DECEPTIVE TITLE
If the title of this book was: "How To Fight With A Knife"I would have given it FIVE STARS but it's title led me to believe that it was about KNIFE TARGETS and it's NOT.VERY DECEPTIVE.

DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK (see why in review)
Do NOT buy “Knife Fighting Targets” (KFT) by Sammy Franco, especially if you already own “Knife Fighting” (KF) by Sammy Franco. They have identical content except that KF has an extra 2 chapters, “Knife Selection,” and “Stance and Footwork” that are missing in KFT.”KF Introduction = KFT INtroductionKF Ch.1,Preventative Measures = KFT, Ch.1 Avoiding a Knife FightKF Ch. 2, Knife Selection = [Not in KFT]KF, Ch.3 Figthting Grips & Ranges = KFT, Ch.2 Knife Fighting ChecklistKF, Ch.4 Stance and Footwork = [Not in KFT]KF, Ch.5 Knife Fighting Targets = KFT, Ch.3, Knife Fighting Battle Plan [first half]KF, Ch.6 Cuts and Angles of Attack= KFT, Ch.3 Knife Fighting Battle Plan [second half]KF, Ch.7 Knife Fighting Strategies = KFT, Ch.4 Knife Fighting Battle PlanKF, Ch.8 Knife Fighting Training = KFT, Ch.5 Knife Fighting TrainingKF, Glossary = KFT, GlossaryI purchased them both, and unfortunately KFT arrived first so I read it and highlighted it. I was extremely disappointed to discover that KF was mostly the same book, with two additional chapters and altered chapter titles. The pages that are in both books are identical. Both books are aimed at beginners, so it makes sense to purchase the book containing all the chapters, “Knife Fighting.”

If you are into the blade arts, this is a book you should check out.
As someone who has had a passion for more than 7 decades for all kinds of unarmed fighting and weapon arts, (Judo, Jujitsu, Karate-Do, Boxing, Combatives, Krav Maga, and numerous blade, stick and firearm systems), and I am always open to reading more about the above topics. This is why when I saw this 239-page soft cover book on Amazon I decided to purchase this (and several other books by this author), Knife Fighting Targets: The ultimate knife fighting targeting system for self-defense by Sammy Franco. This knife fighting method is part of the author’s “Contemporary Fighting Arts” (CFA) system, which includes a complete unarmed and armed fighting system. As someone who is now well into their senior years, but still trains intensely 6 days a week and who has trained in numerous blade arts, (Filipino knife, Machete systems, Japanese Katana, Wakizashi and Tanto-Jutsu methods, and others), over the years, I found this book to be interesting and informative. I was quite familiar with most of the techniques explained in this text; however, this knife system has its own variation that makes it somewhat unique. This book is also well illustrated with black and white photographs. This book is organized into 5 detailed chapters and covers the following material: about knife fighting targets, an introduction, avoiding knife fights, knife fighting checklist, knife fighting targets, knife fighting battle plan and knife targeting training. It also has an extensive glossary section at the end of the book.I think this is an excellent book for anyone interested in learning the CFA) knife targeting system, but as I always emphasize in all my reviews of martial art and fighting books, books are fantastic when combined with actual hands-on training with an instructor. The finer details in performing any weapon and fighting system just cannot be taught from merely reading any book. This does not mean a book has no value. I love reading books on fighting and weapons, but nothing can take the place of learning from a skilled and competent instructor along with reading a review of the material in a book.Rating: 5 Stars.
