We got these for a recent trip to Japan because it is a cash-based society and we wanted a convenient way to carry around coins for buses, purchases, etc. We often used coins for any purchase under $8. The pouches are small but easily held a good handful of coins. The squeeze open/auto close feature was great, we never lost a coin! Definitely recommend if you are traveling to a place where currency in coins is common.

Did the hot-pin-smell-test and it's definitely real leather inside and out. Also thicker leather than all the others I have tried. Very Supple feel to it. Snap-springs are a tiny bit wider than other pouches and a bit more squeeze pressure is required to open them. I carry two every day and use them for extra-small and thinner-than-coins things like washers and other maintenance parts which have fallen out of lesser pouches, but these have not had anything come out of them into my pocket in three months of usage. So today I tested it and put them upside-down in my pocket, still nothing came out. I was quite impressed. They show almost zero wear after three months of daily carry. Can't think of anything that would make them even a little bit better. A very well designed and executed product.

It is well made, soft leather (or leather-like). Perfect for all my Canadian coins and small usb stick.

Works as advertised. However, the top lip opening is thick inside, so it will trap coins when you are pouring coins out. Not an issue if you are plucking coins out one at a time using your fingers though.
