Will do the job sufficiently and is a great flash light when walking dog at night.

Nice size and loud with a decent flashlight. Scares the bullies away when I'm walking my dog. Also love that it charges in an electrical outlet. I've had problems with the charging port on previous ones.

This is my 3rd time buying one, I first bought 2 one for my hubby and one for me, but I took my purse in to Knotts forgetting I had my stunt gun in my purse so I had to throw it away, so I bought another one, these work! I stunt my hubby by accident lol but thank God I was super far away from him! I was just showing him how loud they sound but I guess I aimed it kinda towards him and he felt the electric shock and I was like at least 15 feet away from him unless it was 10 feet away but anyhow that's a good distance and he still felt it.. so I can imagine it'll take someone down who tries to mess with you! Highly recommend.

I try to leave thorough reviews! ~ If you want to skip straight to the point read the paragraph that starts with **** This world has gotten crazier and I just wanted to be prepared. I hope I never have to use this but I’d rather be prepared than not. ****If you are unsure about this, get it! You won’t regret it. It is the perfect size and fits in all of my purses and is lightweight) If you do have to use it just make sure you get skin contact for it to be strong and fully effective. I know people say that if the other person gets ahold of it, they can use it on you but I’m gonna fight and do anything I can to get away and if it means me getting zapped to get away then that’s what I will do.**** There is a switch on the side that you switch on to turn on the flashlight and then you press the button above the switch to activate the shock. Just a warning if you do test it, the shock is very loud. For charging you just plug into the wall. I don’t think you will have to charge it much since hopefully you won’t have to use it. But I would be sure to check it every so often to make sure there is still some power to it so if you do have to use it, it doesn’t die on you. It is probably best for when you are in the dark just because you can use the flashlight and then press the button in case you need to use it, rather than having to switch it on and then press the button. I try to keep this, pepper spray, and one of the safety fobs that chirp on me at all times just in case. For anyone who does purchase for self defense or to feel safe, I hope you never have to use it.

Bought this for my wife. She likes the zebra stripes over a plain black color. It is nice and small and easily fits in a purse or center console of a vehicle. The unit itself is not exceptionally sturdy but for less than $10 it is easily cost-effective if it ever needs to be replaced. The nylon holster is flimsy and you will want a better quality one if you plan on carrying it. Otherwise, it's a good supplement for self-defense tools to use with pepper spray (use the spray to keep an attacker away at a distance but if they close the gap by using this stun gun). Nice non-lethal tools at a very affordable price.

I bought this because I have had bad luck with other stun guns/tasers falling apart on me or breaking easily, and I frequently cut thru a dark canal to get to the nearby stores (where an additional non-lethal defense is nice to have, alongside mace). So I figured for the price atleast I could replace it cheaply. But I was surprised by how well built it is. And having the charging plug slide out of the base is nice because I don't have to keep track of another charging cord. It plugs directly into any home outlet. It has proven more sturdy and lasting (til i lost it lol) than any other tasers I have purchased, including ones costing 4-8 times as much. Not sure on the pain level of the shock as I haven't accidentally shocked myself yet, but it's loud and intimidating. Its important to know that its not the voltage thats the important spec. Its how much current you deliver to your target. What determines pain level is rated in uC ("mu" C). Not sure what this one's rated, but it definitely looks like it would hurt. If i had to guess, id guess somewhere in the midrange to mid-high range of what's commonly available (range is usually 0.7-1.8 uC for common tasers, but there are one or two that are >3uC). Which is fantastic for such a small device. It's handy as a simple pocket-sized rechargeable flashlight as well. Which ends up being the most common usage for me. It does come with a holster with belt loop, but the belt loop part on mine ripped the first day. I intended to sew it back together (easy fix) but I recently lost the taser. I do intend on buying another as soon as I have some extra expendable cash. Then maybe I can comment more on the long term longevity of the device and battery.
