UPDATED Oct2022:After 8 bags in 8 years, this is still my go-to grass. Kitties love it, the grass germinates reliably even near the end of a bag open for a year, and a little goes a long way.I've finessed my growing technique (deeper, better quality soil in the container than my earlier pics) and the "old" grass now gets plopped down on bare spots in my yard to act as an annual to enrich those spots.This remains the best & most cost-effective way to grow small amounts of wheatgrass regularly at home. Highly Recommended.Orig review follows.--An easy-to-grow wheatgrass to sate kitty's desire to nosh on greens. On a first try, it grew vigorously after germinating (no additives needed) despite the weak December sunlight, and has stayed green and upright longer than other brands I've tried (which seem to yellow and flop over much more quickly).Both of my 6-year old kitties like fresh grass, but only one of them will eat it indoors. That one seems to enjoy this wheatgrass as much as any other brand I've tried growing, and since the grass isn't yellowing or wilting, she's staying interested. My only concern? I'd be happier to have the seeds to be certified organic. But Todd's "no chemicals" pledge is a solid step in the right direction.The vendor provides a link for growing instructions, but it's straight-forward. The grass will do better in a deeper dish than I used (pictured) since it has long roots (stretched out, as long as the grass is tall). The shallow dish I used worked because I used a heavier top soil mix rather than a lightweight potting soil. Keep that soil moist (but not saturated, pour off excess water). If kitty's dining spot is poorly lit, make sure to return the dish to a well-lit location so the grass can photosynthesize and not turn yellow and wither.Pictured: 8+ days after germinating.For the amount I used, the one pound bag should let me grow at least 6, maybe 8 batches. It's a good value-- much cheaper than most cat-specific brands I've seen from pet companies. And much less packaging this way, too!Almost all of my (indoor-only) cats have enjoyed a little grass now and again, but escorted visits to the front yard are subject to the whims of weather, season, and lawnmowers (and only if you don't use any lawn chemicals). This is a great alternative for all seasons. Recommended.

I’ve tried plenty brands of cat grass and this is the best I have come across-easily. I have tried the little packets that only have a few seeds, that’s great if you’re planting in a 1” by 1” container. The quantity you get in this bag is awesome and you can plant as many or as little as you want. I have 3 cats and they all love this cat grass. It apparently digests great as my cats would devour all of it if I let them. They eat it, lay on it, smell it, and it increases their curiosity. Easy to grow, it is a FAST grower. I trim it regularly as packaged states. I have one on a table and one on the ground and my dogs just sniff it out, don’t destroy it or anything- #mydogfriendly. Would highly recommend.

I recently bought the 1 Pound of Wheatgrass Seeds - Non-GMO Sprouting Seeds, and so far, they’ve been a solid purchase. The seeds are high-quality, easy to sprout, and grow quickly once they start. I’ve been using them to grow wheatgrass for smoothies and juicing, and it’s been great to have a fresh supply at home.The germination rate is pretty good, and the seeds sprout well when followed by the right steps (make sure to soak them first!). The only thing I’d mention is that it takes a little time and patience to get them to full growth, so don’t expect instant results. It’s worth the wait, though, for the fresh, nutrient-packed wheatgrass.Overall, a great option if you’re looking to grow your own wheatgrass for health benefits. Just be prepared for the time it takes to get them going!

Grows fast I would recommend using perhaps a small container fill it with dirt put the seeds in cover with more dirt put a clear wrap or sandwich wrap on top of the container place it under light or under yeah perhaps direct sun like a greenhouse and these will shoot up like crazy as soon as soon as you put the seeds in and cover it with dirt I do recommend putting a good gentle washing on top of the dirt I don’t go crazy but you’re definitely want to water this each and every single day perhaps with a Mister. Basically I used a spray bottle and just sprayed water on top of the dirt I kept putting the clear wrap on top and the grass grew extremely fast as soon as I saw the grass was about an inch tall I want to head and took the clear wrap off and that was it the cats were happy with it as far as taste I’m not gonna eat one or maybe I did wink wink I have the cat seem to like it you do have to every couple of days put it outside or at least let the sun get to it it does need a light otherwise you’re gonna see the grass start drooping because of lack of sunlight so definitely if you’re gonna have this inside for your cat also make sure that the grass gets sunlight otherwise it’s going to die

Best grass for dogs!Germinated within days and grew fast!Our dogs love chewing crab grass in the yard and I feel this is a much better option!

I really like these seeds! They have an extremely high germination rate, I would almost venture near 100%. I don't do anything special or have any special equipment, I just grab an old flower pot, fill it with some potting soil about 3/4 of the way full, toss in a handfull of seeds, and cover it up with a bit more dirt, give it a good watering until it starts running out the bottom of the pot, and let it go. If it's in the summertime, I just simply put it in a sunny window - in the winter, I put it next to the furnace vent with an old aquarium light. Either way, you will have grass sprouts in about 2 days, and it will be ready for cutting within the week.I use the grass in my juicer whenever I make juice or ice cream topping. It works great in my juicer, and gives me a nice source of vitamins. Of course, you can also toss clippings into a salad and eat it that way too. Either work great, and I'd recommend trying it several different ways. If you're looking at this product, you probably know that wheat grass is very good for you, and a good addition to your daily diet.My cat LOVES this stuff too! Whenever I plant a new batch, I almost always plant two pots worth, one for me, and one for her. She will sit there and munch on this stuff all day long. It doesn't cause her any problems that other grass does, like throwing up, and I can feel good about giving her a treat that is high in good nutrition. One thing to remember if you're going to get this for your pet, though - allow a little extra time for the roots to really take hold before feeding it to them. Trust me, I learned this the hard way, and returned home to find a mess of dirt strewn around the floor. Just allow a few extra days to a week of extra growth time, and you should be good.Another thing to remember is that this grass will grow and die, so don't expect to buy one 1# bag and have it last forever; you will need to replant it to keep your supply going. Even with that, given the price and the high germination rate, you honestly really can't go wrong. Shipping is extremely fast, and they have a very personal feel to their service. I highly recommend this product to everyone!
