Super efficient germination! Packaging is very simplistic and doesn't include sowing instructions. Had to go to the internet to learn how to sow the seeds, but almost everything that I planted from this bundle germinated.

I had some of these seeds from way back in 2016. Some of them were, unfortunately, not even stored properly. I decided to use them all up this year but didn't want to waste soil, trays, and time on old seeds that, most if not all, won't germinate. So I did a germination test and WOW! Almost all varieties germinated and most of those seeds too! I was shocked. Now I'll have a ton of tomatoes and peppers this year LOL. I have a few more seeds of different veggies that I'll do the same when it's time and I'm betting most of those will germinate too. I'll be ordering more of these seeds! However, it's too bad you can't put together your own kit by picking "x" amount of seeds yourself. Our family isn't big on eggplant, for example, so it'd be nice to pick a veggie we do eat more.

Amazing collection of seeds ! They look really fresh . To those that posted low ratings . I can't speak to the sprouting ability yet .But as to the cost and how many seeds . One would have to be pretty ignorant to complain about quantity .Considering they posted the quantity right in the title ( 23,335+ ) . They also listed all of the 135 seed varieties and how many seeds the bags have for every single bag and variety . There's a huge amount of seeds ! The individual bags have various amounts . Some have a few ( 25+ ), some have more ( 500+ ). Smaller seeds tend to have more seeds . As to cost . If you have no clue how much seeds cost these days you might think these are pricy . Or if you are mathematically challenged . But those that have actually been buying seeds know that you often get a ridiculously small amount and pay a ridiculous high price for them .Anyone that thinks these are high priced go buy individual seed packs count how many seeds you are getting and see how far you get with $75 . You would never get near this many seeds and varieties . Let alone the rare diversity . Not even close ! I'll try to remember to post an update after these get geminated to give an idea of how many sprouted . Sprouting issues are sometimes the user though . Do I have complaints ? Sure . There are some strange gaps in the seed varieties .Like only one pack of corn .Several other common vegetables have only one variety . Tomatoes have something like 21 ! WOW ! That is impressive ! 4 types of Okra , really Okra ! ? Would rather have 4 varieties of Cauliflower . But if you bought these from a grocery store or plant nursery as individual packs . You wouldn't get anywhere near this amount or varieties . And if you did it would cost hundreds . So I'm not complaining . I split these up 3 ways for 3 people's gifts and I'm really pleased with the magnitude of seeds that each are getting . Took me a couple hours just to sort them out into some sort of fair equal grouping . I'm confident each of these recipients are going to be blown away by the quantity and quality of their gift . I'm sure they will be overwhelmed . They are going to have to expand their gardens by about 3 times what they have presently .They are going to have produce coming out their ears !

The selection of this Survival Essentials pack is incredible! Each is individually packed in zipper baggies and they even throw in some freebies (expired from the previous season but still appreciated). They are not packed or bundled in any kind of order, so expect to sort through them to find what you are looking for. The seeds have a high germination rate, but certainly not 100% like other reviewers boast. Of the seeds I've tried (All were grown in very rich soil, 5 hrs sun daily, and kept around 70 degrees), here are the germ rates I've experienced: - Tomatoes (multiple varieties) have been about 95% - Green beans 90% (although mine got munched by long-tailed skippers a bit) - Beets hit or miss at about 40% - Broccoli & Brussels sprouts 20% - Spinach 10% Although the seed selection is impressive among the types of tomatoes, root veggies and leafy greens, there is an alarming shortage of most common garden residents... HERBS: There are NO SEEDS for rosemary, sage, chives, mint, tarragon, oregano, lavender, garlic, ginger, marjoram, catnip, lemon balm, cinnamon, lemongrass... to name a few. VEGGIES: There are obvious missing such as leeks, artichokes, rhubarb, edamame, and there is only one kind of spinach and only one kind of corn! FRUITS: Although most grow on trees or vines, the only fruits in this "variety pack" are melons and watermelons - omitting easy garden favorites like strawberries, passion vine, even tomatillos, etc. And it would be awesome if they included a few seed for berries or citrus. For what IS included, these seeds are well packed, have a good germination rate and are worth buying for the variety alone. However, I did expect to see at least the most common herbs included so for that combined with mixed results on germ rates, I dock a star. I would still recommend them, just plant more than you want and plan on having to buy your herbs in addition to this variety pack. UPDATE: Added pics of a raised bed garden with ALL SEEDS from this pack (bought last year). Now growing tomatoes (x8 varieties); lettuce (x3 var.); spinach; onions; carrots (x3); beets (x2); radish (x2); broccoli & brussels sprouts; beans (x2); peas (x2); melon (x2); squash (x2); pumpkin and probably more that I'm forgetting. All with fair to good germination rates. However, NO germination on the summery savory, thyme, or alfalfa from this pack. Overall, excellent value! I bought this for my brother as a Christmas present in 2014. He was fresh out of the military, struggling with depression, and trying to find his way in the world. He needed an outlet. Something to focus on. I took a chance on something different. He absolutely loved it. With all of that being said, I was so scared that these seeds were going to let me, but more importantly, him down. They have not. He is now in his second season planting seeds from the kit I gave him, and is having tremendous success. There was nothing he couldn't get to produce, even in that tough Georgia red clay, and with that oppressive summer sun and humidity. He found the website extremely helpful, giving him ideas of what and when to plant certain things. This year he is taking it to a whole new level, with raised flower beds, compost heaps, and mini greenhouses for year round planting. I can happily say that this is a great product for the beginner looking to unplug and get outside, or the veteran green thumb looking for quality seeds.

very well labeled, easy to understand, they gave some free tomato seeds (cool!), and good instructions. I like the fact they use zip lock bags instead of tear-opens - shows they have the end-user in mind for multi-year runs, thanks! 28 May 2014 Thought I should come back and state that I've no issue with germination rates - these are easily as good as Burpee seeds. With exception of frost-tolerant plants, I start all my seeds in a wet paper-towel inside a zip-lock bag on top of one of my PCs - they are always a little warm, perfect for this. This being year 1, so far so good. Everything germinated well, although I've not opened every pack - really I'll be adding the squash and pumpkins as my garden gets more established - however I did plant some beans, peas, tomatoes, broccoli & cabbage - everything is up that I direct planted - I can't tell germination rate there, but it looks good - I use raised beds - and crowding/random seeding is essential to take advantage of a raised bed - so I don't count plants... Anyway, these are good seeds. well marked, easy to save remaining seeds - I use an ammo can from Army/Navy for storage.
