as an engineer (we love to analyze and do a 2-week research even to ...
I travel a lot for my photography hobby. I used to have a polyester sleeping bag liner with me all the time, but I wanted something more light for my ultra-light camping gear (the polyester liner was 8.35oz). It used to get smelly over the time. Also, in my travels sometimes I tend to stay at questionable places (Amsterdam hostels, beds are scary, you could tell a lot happened on them). I changed hotels twice because of damn bedbugs (In the US, not Europe). So, as an engineer (we love to analyze and do a 2-week research even to buy a damn toothpaste), I did a little research and found out that Bamboo and mulberry silk are the only fibers that are naturally pest-resistant. So, it was bamboo viscose vs mulberry silk. I found a bamboo liner but is was 16 ounces heavy and did not pack very compact (Also the color was light green, ugghh), bye bamboo. But, but… what about the thermal and insulation properties of silk? I was questioning myself, since sometimes I camp in the Northern California Sierras (Big Pine, Second Lake, is beautiful) at 25F, or wait sleeping in the car for the sunrise at Lake Tahoe (23F) or at Hallstad, Austria (30F), etc. “The best natural fabric for the skin in order to keep it warm is silk. Silk provides warmth while gently caressing the skin with its soft feel.” “Silk is best for moderate cool-weather activities, snowsports and stationary activities (spectator sports and indoor lounging).” Boom! (Thank you Google). So, I wanted something made of mulberry silk and light. Browsing Amazon I found the Brave Era Travel Sheet, they were light and made of the material I wanted. Used mine for my last travel to Europe this winter (hostels and sleeping in the car at 25F) and it passed with flying colors. It doesn’t smell, it was super soft, comfortable and warm. This is heaven compared to the polyester sleeping bag liner I was using, it like from being sleeping wrapped in aluminum foil, upgrading to sleep being wrapped in, well… silk. I never imagined that silk was so resistant even though it looks so delicate. I’m happy with my purchase and that the effort of my research paid off.As per my findings, it weights less (5.5oz) and also packs smaller (less than 6” x 6”) than the vendor claims (which is a good thing for me), check the photos. The only thing is, I wanted something in red or black color, to hide stains and stuff, but they only carry white and gray, that is 4.5 stars for me (I gave 5 because amazon doesn’t allow 0.5 increments). Anyways I got the gray, it looks nice and it seems that it will conceal the “dirt” as I wanted.I have not wash it, but the vendor claims that is machine washable, we’ll see. Some reviewers say that they had no problem washing it. I’ll wash mine in delicate-hand wash cycle and air dry it like I do with my other technical hiking clothes and gear, if it gets destroyed in the first wash I will update this review (And probably lower the rating to 2 stars).

I am currently backpacking across Asia and LOVE my Brave Era silk sheet
I am currently backpacking across Asia and LOVE my Brave Era silk sheet. Ive traveled to Japan, Myanmar, and Thailand so far and have used it in every hostel, hotel, and temple that I have slept in. The fabric is so soft and cool to sleep in. It also keeps me at ease knowing no matter where I am in the world I am sleeping in something clean. Before I left I sprayed it with Permetrin which repels all bugs making it a perfect travel sheet. In South East Asia there are bugs everywhere so this was essencial. Below are a couple pictures of the sheet on my journey. You can decide to keep pillow in your sleeping sheet or lay your sheet over it depending on how clean you feel your pillow is. I think the second way is recommended but if you bring a pillow when you travel you might prefer the first.

This travel sheet is perfect for hosteling when you're not sure about the quality ...
I got to use a Brave Era Silk Travel Sheet on my trip to Europe in September 2016. I spent a month and went all over the place: Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Zermatt, Milan, Venice, Florence, Pisa, Rome, Casablanca, Marrakesh and Lisbon. Trip of a lifetime! This travel sheet is perfect for hosteling when you're not sure about the quality of the bed sheets, which was a good amount of the places I ended up in. I had a blast, but cleanliness wasn't exactly the top priority of some hostels I visited. This silk sheet puts me sound asleep after wandering around all day. It is extremely lightweight and barely took up any space in my pack. I am so happy to bring it with me on my journeys. Total game changer for hosteling.

Awesome travel sheet. So soft, big, and made with strong material!!
This is seriously so soft and comfy. I'm really excited I decided to buy two at the last minute -- I'm giving one to a traveler friend for her birthday! She stays in fairly nice places when she goes off hiking but bed bugs can be anywhere (so nasty) and this will definitely help with that! For me, I use it as a pillow on the plane (haha, you have to be creative when traveling) and it's compact enough to throw in my big purse. I've traveled in 30+ countries and I think I just hit jackpot with this purchase. I was worried about it not being strong enough or that it would be cheap material -- ya never know what you're going to get -- but this actually lives up to its description, which was a happy surprise. Total luxury bed liner/travel sheet. Do it. Highly recommend!

Roomy, Comfortable and Luxurious!
I am LOVING this travel sheet. One thing I noticed right away is how ROOMY it is, compared to, say, a sleeping bag. You can really move your legs around and get comfortable to get to sleep. The fabric is soft, smooth and breathable. Cool and comfortable, the silk feels really luxurious. And I'm so impressed with ingenious built-in pillow cover. How clever is that? It protects your hair and face, just as the rest of the sheet protects your body from bedbugs or sheets that may not be as clean as you think. I love mine so much, I got one for my sister-in-law, a world traveler who's bedded down in some pretty grotty places. Now she can do so in safety and comfort!

In the best way; you get what you pay for!
I did a lot of searching before purchasing this product and I’m very happy I ended up spending the money on this one. I was staying a few nights in the hospital for the birth of our first child and was extremely concerned about the cleanliness of the room and sleeping accommodations (side note: I have an extreme immune disorder so I tried to equip myself with products to get as comfortable/safe as I could, this being a key part of my sleep system). This product is without a doubt the lightest and most compact product I could have bought in this category. It has held up well to some abuse and already a few delicate machine washes (hang dry). I used to work at REI and sell many of the cocoons/sleep liners to international travelers, but I think this outperforms them all.

Definitely a Traveler's Friend!
This travel sheet is really great! It has made such a difference to me when I'm in hotels or cottages. I just wish I had spent the money sooner to get myself something like this. The silk is, as they say, silky soft, and very comfortable to sleep in. The travel sheet is very light and compact to carry, washes well, and air dries in a very short period of time. You don't have to iron it, but it's nicer ironed. The only thing is that I wish I had gotten a larger size as the bottom sheet kind of scrunches up a bit under the shoulders when I'm sleeping. Also the side opening could start a bit lower down to make it easier to get in and out, especially if there is a pillow inserted in the pillow pouch. I usually don't bother with the pillow pouch, and just position the sheet a bit farther down on the bed for ease of access. Nevertheless, I recommend this product, especially for folks who travel a lot.

Used on a recent trip
As product description. Drys fast, is compact for travel. A little narrower than I expected. Would be a perfect sleeping bag liner. A bit misleading on the bug protection part as you are required to spray it to have bug the protection.

Quick dry and very light weight
As described, it was quick to dry and very lightweight. It was big enough for me but I am petite. The side opening is quite large. I wish there is a way to tie the side together so I do not fall out of it during the night. Overall, I would recommend buying this.
