The only mistake I made was in pulling out the plastic battery protector which started the clock. Thus was easy to correct. The clip holder seems robust and I have clipped it to my t-shirt collar, sock, pocket while exercising at my gym and it stayed put. I have placed the small part of the lanyard on the tracker and sometimes connect it to the longer portion and wear it around my neck while on a treadmill. That way it is easier to compare the distances on each. Now, the most important part: accuracy. I have tracked distance on a treadmill and the 3DTriSport about 7 times. It has never deviated by more than 0.02 miles. This is accurate enough for my needs. I have also tracked distance from my house to my gym and compared to Google Maps to the TriSport and again, never more than 0.02 miles difference. I also found that it tracks walking on stairs as well. (But you have to buy that add-on feature...) **Q: Tested several times by walking exactly 100 steps. everytime it read around 150, despite me changing the stride length from 30" all the way up to 50".** A: My pedometer is accurate to 1 or 2 steps per 100 when I use the clip on my belt. But I am overweight and it pops off when I use the clip. It is supposed to work in your pocket, but when I put it there it is always over by 15% to 50% (pedometer will say 115, 120, 130, 140, even as high as 150 per 100 steps walked. BTW, this has NOTHING to do with stride length. The stride length is important for measuring miles/kilometers accurately. For me it it is 29 inches, or 1185 steps per mile. If you don't measure your stride length accurately the distance in miles or kilometers will be wrong, even if the number of steps is accurate (as it is for me when I clip it on my belt). I will buy another pedometer that I can use in my pocket or a bag. I don't know if the lanyard works, because I lost it somehow and don't see ow to fasten it on the pedometer anyway. ;-) **Q: Does this have wireless communication capabilities? When positioned on the hip, it's accurate. When using the strap, accuracy suffers quite a bit.
