Review: Excellent Quality close up filter without Spending a Lot. - This is a high-quality, reliable close-up filter. It pairs perfectly with my Sony RX10IV, allowing me to photograph flowers. I highly recommend it to photographers who want to step into macro photography without spending a lot of money.
Review: Great for action cams - This is kind of info about a specific situation, but I recently purchased a osmo action 6 and I was underwhelmed with the selection of custom made lenses for the thing. I ended up finding an adapter that snaps onto the standard lens cover that will allow you to run 49mm filters which opens me up to a world of strange filters, and sometimes better quality ones. The biggest problem I had with the action camera is the inability to focus up close if I wanted to use it like a webcam or to take selfies with. In order to be in focus you have to be at arms distance, and with the wide-angle lens on the thing, it doesn't really fill the image very well. I purchased a set of the polar pro 2, 4 and 8 diopter lenses, and this one here in plus three and plus five. I need to play with it more, and the polar pro lenses are better glass I can tell, but these look fine, and the plus five is the sweet spot for webcam or blogging at less than arms distance and still have a copious amount of background bokeh. There's going to be a certain amount of distortion around the edges, but to me this is the best solution I have found so far for this problem. Plus honestly with this lens on and a lens cap and a cage it looks badass. If you are going to use it on an action 6, If you want to use a circular polarizer with it, you really need to have a circular polarizer custom fit screw in replace the normal lens cover circular polarizer. If you try to stack another 49 mm polarizer on top of this you get the worst tunnel vision. It's kind of a trippy effect but it's not very good.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: 43mm x vario?**
A: this is a 67mm Macro lens

**Q: What is the focal length in meters?**
A: I increases the focal length of whatever lens it is attached to

**Q: Will this lens connect directly to a panasonic fz1000? also, what camera settings are used in conjunction with this lens?**
A: Yes. it just screws into the front filter thread. Check the size, but I believe it is 62mm.

You need to use this filter on the zoom settings, at least 35mm or wider. Below this, there is too much field distortion.

Depth of field is very shallow, so use f8 or higher.

Results vary from different camera and lens combinations, so the results will differ.

I am very happy with the images from my fujifilm X-T20. The photo's are high quality, right out to the edges.

**Q: Will this work with a sony fe 90mm f/2.8-22 macro g lens?**
A: It probably would, however your working distance will be reduced...how much I don't know. If your subject is something live (insects, etc.) that might not be good, but if you are shooting coins, flowers, etc. it probably wouldn't matter. Canon used to make achromat diopter screw on lenses, which are pretty good, but it seems they are getting harder to find these days.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ +3 Not Quite Close Enough
*by O***R on April 26, 2026*

In the spring I like to do macro wildflower photography. I have a Nikon 105mm macro lens. But it can't get as close as I'd like to get without cropping. I tried the Marumi +3 close up filter. It did get minimally closer but still not what I wanted so I returned it. I ordered the +5 version and that does better so I'm keeping it. The quality appears to be very good. I have not tried the +3 filter on any other lens.
