Good product, but…
This a beautiful guitar, very well finished, and It comes in a good quality gig bag. Some marks at the strings made me suspect that it was used at least for testing, but it was not a big deal. I found my fingertips totally black colored after playing it for the first time, so cleaning the neck with a soft cloth was necessary to reduce that. I suppose this is something that would be solved overtime. I found the guitar hard to play, probably because it came badly set up and the action of the strings was very high. This means it required a good luthier and about 50 additional dollars, plus new strings, to have it appropriately adjusted. At the end, I decided to return it 48 hours after receiving it.

Depending on your needs, this is an excellent instrument!
I purchased this guitar from another shop with the idea of it being a “beater”. The nylons I mainly play are custom made and I am endorsed by another company. Some of venues I have to play are outside or on the water and I know it’s not good for my favorite instruments. I had never played an Ortega when I purchased this instrument and I was impressed by the build quality. For using plugged in it’s adequate sounding but acoustically the laminated materials lack the tone and definition of a premium instrument. That is not a knock however. I would never expect a guitar in this price range to sound like a handmade solid wood instrument. I will say I have had other inexpensive guitars by major makers and they were nowhere near this build quality. The truss rod works great too. That is not always the case. Little things like the wood shrinkage along the sides of the fingerboard exposing fret edges will have to be addressed by my luthier at some point but it came out of the box ready for active duty. The gig bag is a hard side bag of superior quality. Machine heads are functional but not a joy, they work and look nice. Intonation is spot on. If you are not expecting high end tone, you will not be disappointed with this model. I am stunned by how much you can get for around $300!
