Easy install with a little effort and sweat
I have a 2006 Ford F-350, 4WD, SRW. The item was fairly easy to install. I made sure to hit all the nuts several days in advance with some spray lubricant. The stock stabilizer came off with some moderate effort. The end with the bushings came off easier. The opposite end required some pounding with a baby sledge. Keep at it and it will come off. You will notice that the product does not come with any formal installation instructions. All it comes with is some torque specs for the nuts. I checked their website and was not able to download any. I reached out to Rancho by phone and was informed that they do not have any instructions other that what came with it. They suggested following the factory directions. The only thing they told me was to make sure on the bushings end to tighten the nut until the bushings are as wide as the retaining washers that surround them. On that same end, I also replace the standard nut with a locking nut. I took a couple of pics with my cell phone of the stock one before I removed it just in case. However once I got working on removing it and got it off I really didn't need the pictures. It all made sense. Overall it took me about 45 minutes to an hour to install it. I haven't driven too far on it yet so I can not comment on it's performance. I'm hoping for the best.

Does not fit all 2005 F350's
Purchased this steering stabilizer from Amazon warehouse. It came in original packaging but was missing a hardware bag. A call to Rancho took care of the problem and 3 days later I had the parts. Rancho's technical service was excellent. The problem occurred when I took the old stabilizer off and compared it to the new one and yes I know I should have checked before going to all the trouble removing the original. The one on the truck had two eyelets w/bushings as opposed to the a threaded end as pictured on the RS 5413. The truck, a 2005 F350, was manufactured in August of 2004 and so it is possible that a design change occurred later in the model year as Rancho confirmed the RS 5413 fits the 2005 model. The Rancho is a much more rugged damper than the OEM and so hopefully I will find the correct Rancho replacement.

It fit.
Fit perfectly and does what it supposed to do - it really feels more solid and stable.

I GOT ME A NEW TRUCK
At only 83,000 miles, I thought my 2005 F250 (Old Blue) should stay in his own lane and not wander so much when not on a straight road. While replacing the shocks with Rancho RS5000s (trying to reduce my broken teeth on a bumpy road) I decided to also replace this steering dampener while I was at it. The removed OEM still had great resistance each direction so I thought, "Oh great, wasted money again!"Then I noticed the OEM had a flat spot from any resting position - meaning when starting to move the piston in or out there was NO resistance in either direction for about 3/4 of an inch. So I proceeded to bang two knuckles and utter two resulting bad words (Ok, three bad words, but it hurt!) removing the old one and far less effort to install the new one (most happy about that fact).WoW! I GOT ME A NEW TRUCK!. No kidding, I can't be more surprised this one cheap part completely change the tracking and handling! Buy it!

Great improvement over OEM
I installed a full set of RS9000XL shocks and a RS5000 steering stabilizer on my 2005 F250 SD and what a difference! The ride is amazing, no more clacking my teeth together over potholes and the steering is firm and there is no more wandering or steering give. Simple to install with a few wrenches and sockets. Two of us had it done in about 3 hours. The instructions leave a bit to be desired, but there are all kinds of videos on the internet. I like the adjustment factor on the shocks allowing you to choose your ride preference or how it allows you to increase or decrease the stiffness based on your load conditions. They look good too!

Easy to install, has a boot and it works.
So far so good.I was getting the death wobble again and the damper/stabilizer was leaking again on my 2006 Ford f-350 so time for my second damper replacement at 120,000 miles. Part of the problem was mud caked and dried on the inside of the wheel rims throwing the wheel balance out of whack. Tire pressure is also a critical factor so make sure they are up to the recommended preasure, on my Firestone Transforce AT tires I use 70 psi all round, 10 psi under max. The boot over the shaft is important to me due to the many dirt roads here in Montana to protect the shaft seal.
