Is it bigger than the original? - I need big.

I feel this is bigger. It has an area that can be extended.

What is the distance between the end and the split?

On the end with the buckle/slider for adjustments it's approx 7 inches, on the other end it's approx 5 1/2, total length will vary but mine is about 19 inches straight out of the package.
