Are these gluten free?

While there are no specific gluten-containing ingredients, there are mild concerns of gluten cross-contamination with the ingredients or in the processing and manufacturing. The main culprit here are the oats. While oats are gluten free in their natural state, unless they are handled carefully from harvest to the manufacturing a product, they are likely to come in contact with trace amounts of wheat which contain gluten. You can go to Clif Bar website and see their products that they say are gluten free, such as the Builder Bars, Luna Bars and Z-Bars.

Not sweet like a chocolate bar but definitely has some sweetness. You can lightly taste the dates but the cocoa and peanut butter are so yummy! It fixes my sweet tooth but I don’t feel as guilty.

I'm a vegan and I eat them: From the Clif Bar website: "They may be made in a bakery that uses dairy-based ingredients. In those cases, we note the potential for traces of dairy on our packaging to inform consumers trying to avoid it (e.g. those with allergies, vegans, etc.)." They go on to say: "Only one of our foods contain intentionally added animal-based ingredients CLIF Kid Zbar® Protein includes whey."
