Excellent for Power Outage
After having a couple power outages that caused us to have to trash everything in fridge and freezer, we wanted a way to be able to track temperatures better. We use ours with batteries and not a line power, since that's our main concern and it actually served us well this winter. We lost power for a couple days, and were able to track temperatures to assure safety both inside the fridge itself, but later on outside when we used the cold outside to try to save the food. Having it track highs and lows within a period is especially useful in this scenario. We just tucked the sensors inside of our storage bins along with the food, and could continue to monitor if the outside temperatures breached safety temps.

Do Not Purchase
Worked for about 30 days. Just long enough for the return period to be over. Sensors fail, will not provide temperature.

Great instrument but?
This instrument works great. The only think is the instruction and product description are very poor and not user . Once you figure it out with the help of the Q&A section all is well. There is actually 3 monitors. 2 of them can be used in a refrigerator or freezer. The one called room is for the area the monitor is in. Programing is like the instruction sheet says however its unclear if when the ALARM symbol shows is this is a program mode or Alarm mode. IT turns out if Alarm shows on the monitor its program and if ALARM shows with hash marks around it this is the monitor mode, If the program temp is exceeded the monitor BEEPS and the hash marks flash. When you figure it all out its works great.

Works Very Well
There are several good features of this thermometer: 1. The outside display uses house power with a battery backup. 2. The display shows the state of the batteries in the temperature monitoring sensors. 3. The display is very easy to read. 4. It shows a 24-hour "history" of the temperatures inside the refrigerator and freezer. 5. It has a settable alarm that warns you when limits are exceeded. There is one thing I found a bit "wanting" - the minus signs for negative temperatures are not close enough to the numbers. For a few days, I didn't even realize they were there.

Very accurate, timely readings, great value.
Perfect for my generator shed as it seems to update every minute. The alarm function works perfectly to warn of issues before heat buildup gets to be too much. No wifi or app - but I didn’t need one for monitoring the shed temp. Sensor range is excellent and transmits easily through two thick walls. Easy setup. By the way, I’ve tried Govee and AcuRite but returned both.

WAY BETTER than the Accurite !
I'm very happy with this fridge thermometer. It's WAY BETTER than the Accurite I bought before. Very accurate, easy to read and shows the room temp so I can tell how well my fridge is working in comparison. This is REALLY important to me because I live on my sailboat which is a 12 volt system. Hopefully it has a long lifespan, time will tell. It has a USB charge /power port which should be handy since I use rechargable batteries. I'm thinking about buying a second one so I can keep tabs the temps in my engine compartment and also my portabella garden that lives in a small compartment. The sending units on the Accurite we're problematic. I had to to take the batteries out regularly and rotate to get good connections and reset the display to work. So far, I give it double thumbs up.

We recently lost all of the food in one of our chest freezers when it stopped working and we didn't know until everything was spoiled. Since we have 2 chest freezers, this device was a perfect fit. The accuracy appears to be within a couple of degrees but, for our application, accuracy isn't the dominant factor. We wanted something that would alert us when the temperature went seriously too high. Freezer temperatures are adjustable but, they are normally around -18C, so you've got lots of range in which you can set an alarm. Alarm limits (high and low) are set for each sensor and the alarm is loud enough to hear if you're in another room. We currently have one of the sensors in a freezer in the basement and the other in a refrigerator upstairs. The receiver unit is located in our kitchen and is registering slightly changing temperatures from both sensors. The signal, from the sensor in the basement, has to make it through the metal wall of the freezer plus several walls and a floor to get to the receiver and seems to be handling it just fine. Haven't had the unit long enough to know how long the batteries will last but, at the moment, everything is working good.

The sensors were accurate within .5 degrees F. of each other (when placed side-by-side). Sensors and receiver are on opposite ends of my home and on different floors, receiver has no problem getting the signal. Note that battery condition is only displayed when batteries are weak, as mentioned in the manual.

The min and max temperatures displayed are the current temperature range the sensor has detected when initially setting up. You have to go into set up mode each to see the alarm set min/max. The ACTUAL upper/lower set temperatures do not show when viewing the display. Very confusing. It doesn't make any sense at all why the manufacturer designed it this way. There are other customers who had the same problem. Will return product. BTW, I gave it 5 stars for operational range of both upright and chest freezers which were separated by 35 ft. I hope a different brand will work as good.

I use this to show temperature in old freezer chast that does not have a built in display and the freezer below my fridge whose display is broken. The display is attached to the fridge while the sensor for the freezer chest is about 10 meters (33 ft) away. Works nicely for a long time now.
