ROWDY RATHORE DVD BOLLYWOOD MOVIE 2012 AKSHAY KUMAR SONAAKSHI SINHA

It's Silly! It's Goofy As Hell! It's G-R-R-REAT!!!
ROWDY RATHORE, a hugely-popular Indian blockbuster crowd-pleaser, tells the story of small-time Mumbai con man/thief Shiva who falls in love with respectable girl Paro, and promises after One Last Criminal Gig to give up his life of crime. Said gig involves stealing a trunk he and his partner think is full of jewels, but instead contains a young girl Chinki, who thinks Shiva is her Father, One Man War on Crime IPS Vikram Rathore, who's in the hospital in a coma following a fight with an army of bad guys sent to kill him by the crimelord of a distant province. The goons chasing Chinki to Mumbai think Shiva is Rathore, of course, there's a long chase - and Rathore himself shows up, having somewhat recovered from his coma and ready to beat an even BIGGER army of goons in an insanely over-the-top and comic fight scene! Rathore falls back into a coma following the huge fight, regains consciousness just long enough to ask Shiva and Paro to take care of his daughter (her mother died years ago), then dies - leaving Shiva with the unenviable task of having to pretend to be Rathore and face down the crimelord and his minions.... (Yeah, it's what the population of the Indian Subcontinent mean when they call their popular movies "masalas" - it's a stew of plot elements that shouldn't work together, but somehow does.)If you're looking for a traditionally *good* movie, with subtle characterizations and nuanced storytelling - this is NOT for you. It's an entertainer from start to finish, with absurd twists, fun song&dance numbers, action scenes that go "Pah!" to both logic and gravity, a cute kid, a "nice Indian girl" love interest who's not a bad con artist herself, and Akshay Kumar in a swaggering double role that lets him break out his martial arts chops. Once Shiva figures out the way to bring down the crimelord's empire is to merge Rathore's relentless pursuit of criminals with his own love of a good con, and his growing realization that the "little people" victims needs to have a hand in the crimelord's defeat too, the movie takes off into a cross between a feel-good sports drama and a caper comedy - capped off with a climactic huge fight scene that demonstrates Shiva and Rathore have more in common than either originally thought!I loved it, my American friends who watch "Bollywood" movies loved it - but some of my Indian friends who wish their film industry wouldn't cater so much to "trash" didn't like it at all. So I give it five stars, but Your Mileage May Vary....

Stick with it, a little silly in the first half
As usual, the film starts out slow but gets interesting and better. I enjoyed it after the first half!

Great Movie
No, the fight scenes are not the most realistic, but this is Bollywood, after all. I loved the movie, I liked the story :)

You will see double
Very funny but there are some hard scenes to watch to get the tissues. I enjoyed the jabs at the other actors in India.
