Cen-Tec Systems, 94775, CT20QD Quiet Drive Central Vacuum Nozzle with Integrated Wand, Black

My old power head died a few years ago, I assumed replacing it would be impossible and/or difficult and very expensive. An exact replacement was impossible to find so I gave up pretty quickly. We’ve been getting by with robot vacuums for all this time until now. My wife asked for a vacuum cleaner for Christmas so I did a tiny amount of research and found that I needed a new wand and power head with a flush plug. This set fits my hose perfectly. The height is easy to adjust and the light is pretty bright. It is pretty loud but not too bad, most of the noise is from the vacuum motor in the garage. Most importantly my carpets are clean now, way cleaner than the robots get it. Set to medium height I heard it pulling TONS of junk out of the carpet. I’m very happy with this purchase so far.

Our 16-yr-old Beam Advocate power head started to short out and the local central vacuum dealer could not get the parts from Beam. Apparently discontinued. Followed up with another dealer who also had been having trouble getting replacement parts and had discontinued selling Beam. We could have bought a new set of accessory tools, including a new hose and power head (not Beam brand), but it was priced at almost $700. Found this on Amazon. Fits the old hose perfectly and works great. Takes a bit of getting used to the height setting (our old one was self-adjusting), but we are very pleased and would buy again.

I bought this to work with my Beam central vacuum system. It was to replace a defunct OEM brush unit. This integrated flawlessly with my Beam, and works wonders. I have a short haired dog which sheds like crazy. I have used not only my Beam, but also two other brands of "pet hair" vacuums. I never felt like they quite did the job, or at least not unless I made several passes, coming at it from multiple angles. This brush does the trick in maybe two passes, in perpendicular angles. The construction of this unit does feel slightly cheap. It reminds me of vacuums from the 80's, and the mechanism that changes the brush height feels like it's 80's technology as well. That being said, it doesn't feel like it's going to just fall apart on me, and I don't feel like I need to baby it. Maybe I just wish it felt a little more robust and modern. All that being said, it's doing it's job remarkably well, so it still gets 5 stars from me. We'll see how it hold up in the long run.

I was pleased how much lighter and quieter it was than my old Drain Vac. Very pleased with how well it functions.

Terrible quality! Plastic part that rotates roller broke after only a few uses.

Worked great, and then one day, after about 10 months of using it, the electrical component just stopped working. The rollerbrush won’t spin, but the suction does work. Gonna have to probably fork over a bunch of money to get it fixed

As other reviewers have noted, so must I note that the level of customer service provided by Cen-Tec is over-the-top fantastic. I needed a new powerhead and wand for my vac because the original 25 y.o. powerhead had finally worn out. I called Cent-Tec directly, knowing the original equipment model was likely no longer available. Cen-Tec confirmed this to be true. They asked me to send them a pic of the power-connector on my original equipment wand handle, so they could precisely match that power connector configuration with current-generation Cen-Tec Powerhead/Wand assemblies, and then promptly got back in touch to advise of 3 matching options. Three! All of which are available on Amazon or directly from their website. I ordered the powerhead/wand assembly that best fit my needs and budget, it arrived in a very timely manner, and plugged in perfectly to the wand handle. Works great! A good purchase, and once again kudo's to Cen-Tec for the outstanding customer service! Thanks!

I ordered this in March 2020 as the description said it was compatible with the Beam system. I had to return it as it is NOT compatible with a 15 year old Beam system.
