I researched a good tea kettle and based on the reviews and beautiful ...
This is my first Chantal product. I researched a good tea kettle and based on the reviews and beautiful aesthetics I settled on this one. The only negative I have is that the item is advertised as brand new and the price reflects as such. It came inside an amazon box along with other items I ordered but the tea kettle had no other packaging other than a small tag attached via a chain. It looks new but it was definitely NOT NWT. I seriously doubt Chantal products are sold without ANY packaging. I kept the rating at 5 stars b/c this is most likely due to the seller and not the product quality. That being said - I love this tea kettle! It looks great in our kitchen - black granite counter tops with stainless steel appliances. I have only used it 3x so far but the whistle sounds good and the water heated up fast enough for me. Cleaning it so far has been fine. The handles don't really get in the way - maybe if you have large arms and hands this could be an issue but I am 5'4" and have no problem getting my hand in there to clean it. It's a tight fit but manageable. I have to remember to move it when I am cooking - just to keep it free of cooking splatter etc. It is still shiny and a pretty addition to the kitchen. The capacity is perfect for me. I have a HiWare 50oz glass drip-free carafe (pitcher) I like to keep tea in and the capacity in this kettle is perfectly matched to my pitcher. It feels of good quality and I feel like it will last a long time in our home. I hope the whistle lasts and does not have an issue other reviewers have of breaking. The finish is more of a brushed steel as opposed to a high polish - which is great b/c that helps keep it looking nicer longer.I know I rely heavily on reviews. Please acknowledge if you found this review helpful Thank you.

Beauty plus Quality
This teakettle is the absolute best. Strong whistle, solid construction. This is the second one I’ve owned.Nothing else compares. It’s beautiful as well with many color and metal options.

Dangerous/Hazardous Interior enamel glass chips flake off into coffee/tea
This is our second kettle. The first lasted many years. This lasted one month!Serious concern is the flaking enamel glass that can be digested. Picture shows the various sizes. See other similar reviews reporting same problem. That is the first most important message.Second- See the advertising claim: Premium "boiler" enamel lining provides extra durability for long-term performance. Long term must mean 2 months for this claim to be true!Third - Customer support. The good news, they were very responsive - speed, but not satisfying in resolution.Based on the default after one month, I expected a replacement. Chantal Corp Response on 21APRIL2021 postulated the cause as being thermal shock ("consistent with thermal shock"). Read: consistent with operator error, not manufacturing error! How could Chantal even come close to admitting a possible culpability in hazardous especially in light of their advertising claim! For this operator, we still use the first kettle as we have for many years with no thermal shock issues.Chantal did not address the rust. I suspect the enamel separated from the metal and corrosion aggravated the situation such that the enamel broke loose.Warranty - They said that this was not covered by warranty. AND they would provide another one for ~$75! If this is possibly going to cause a hazardous condition due to operator error (thermal shock), why would anyone spend another dollar on this product? A kettle! What is there to warrant?? How about failure of the enamel?Bottom line: The kettle is beautiful; the whistle is as advertised; the interior has dangerous issues; Chantal has a very courteous and quick response, but not satisfying. Buy this for show or as a flower pot. If one uses it, pour the liquid through a paper filter until they really determine the cause.

Classic and beautiful (spearmint color)
Purchased this to replace my 25 yr-old teakettle of same brand & design which was starting to rust inside (my fault for sometimes forgetting to empty it out) but otherwise very tough and still beautiful after all those years.New one weighs 2 ounces less than old one. 2 3/8 lbs vs 2.5 lbs. Some reviewers wrote that this new version is cheaper than old. I don't find that to be the case, but time will tell. I hope it lasts another 20+ years. The spearmint color is beautiful.Instruction card did not explain that the harmonic whistle can be tuned. I remembered this from before. Found a youtube video explaining how to tune. Same video explained how to adjust and lubricate one of the parts in the hinge.

Great little kettle
I like everything about this kettle except the whistle, which actually sounds like a very loud train whistle. It's well made, the lid fits snug and it boils fast. I bought it because it has an enameled interior instead of bare steel. Pours really well and the handle doesn't heat up, but I don't leave it on a warm burner after it boils, either. I've never had to use the little pot holder that comes with it. It's pretty easy to clean. It seems a little high priced compared to some other kettles but I think that is because of the brand quality. I recommend it for a nice little stove top kettle.

Beautiful harmonic whistle sound
I bought this kettle in 2016. It is now 2020. I bought the shiny stainless steel model and it has worked like a charm and I hope to keep it much longer. I decided to take a look on this site to see if it was still available because I cannot stand the high pitched whistle of other tea kettles. This has a much lower tone but you can hear it anywhere in the house.I am totally shocked to see so many negative reviews but they mostly seem to be with the enamel ones. If I had to...I'd love to purchase this again but the reviews are worrisome.I use the kettle daily so it has had tons of use over 4 years so far. I absolutely love it and hope the company figures out what is happening the quality of some of these kettles.I still recommend it highly based on my experience.
