Excellent product!
This rubbing compound works extremely well. It removed some etched stains on my car's paint that ordinary scratch remover couldn't touch. It leaves the paint looking clean and super glossy. Another great product from Meguiar!

NUMBER ONE FOR ME....
Just a quick note on how good this stuff is. It makes my 77 ford look real good in my opinion.Truck was painted by me about 9 years ago with base coat and clear coat. PPG paint with glamour clear from my buddys at napa. Works very well if you know what you are doing but it is forgivable to a degree.Been using this brand of polish, wax, and cutting compound since the late 1970 dNow it's a little pricey in my opinion but what isn't now in 2025. Also use sparingly, a little does wonders.

It works!!!
This product will work best in scratches that have peeled the first layer -clear coating- of your vehicle’s paint. As the bottle states, it removes 1,200 grit or finer sanding marks. If you want to find out if the ultra-cut compound would work for you before purchasing it, you will need to get the scratch wet with soapy water using an atomizer or spray. If the scratch disappears when wet, then you will be able to buff it out with this product. For context, the scratch in my vehicle was about 5 inches long, and 80% percent of it disappeared when wet, with the exception of the deepest areas at the beginning and end of the scratch. Because of this, I was far from certain that the product would work, but it did! Here are the steps that you need to follow:1) Using an atomizer/spray, clean the area with soapy water using a microfiber rag.2) Once dry, proceed to apply the product along the scratch.3) If buffing by hand, alternate in between circular and perpendicular movements in relation to the scratch. For instance, do three rounds of circular motion, then three round of perpendicular motion and so on. Add product as needed. Don’t be stingy with it. I used about a quarter of the bottle to get rid of the scratch.4) You will need to be patient. Within the first 5 to 10 minutes you might see little to no change. After about 10 minutes you will see that the scratch starts to disappear. In my case, the scratch was visually gone, but at an angle I could still see its indentation. Up to that point I thought the product was merely masking the scratch. However, after 30 minutes of buffing, the scratch was totally gone! In total, I spent about 30 to 40 minutes to get rid of a 5 inch scratch. I’m certain that the process would had been much faster if I had used a rotary buffer or DA polisher.Lastly, I tried the ultra-cut compound in other minor/more superficial scratches, and needless to say I spent much less time -10 to 15 minutes- in each of those.

Long work time with great results.
I'm not a pro by any definition but have done a fair amount of body/paint and have detailed for years. I was struggling with the M100, which I bought in a pinch. The 100 has a very, very short work time and if it dries or you dry it while buffing you have to use a detail spray or similar to remove. Not a fan at all. I had used this M105 a couple of years back on a repaint of a fiberglass trike body and it did a great job. I installed rockers and a couple of patch panels on an older Ford Econoline and did a rattle can paint and clear blend. In using the Spraymax spot blender I always seem to get some grain/dry spray. After a wet sand of those areas using 1200, 2k, 3k and 5000 sandpaper I used the M105 with an 1 1/4" knap wool pad on a rotary at low speed, not too much product and a light touch helps to prevent buffer drying on the panel and as expected brought out a beautiful mirror shine on those areas. I had previously used Maguires Ultimate Compound and polish on the other body areas just to brighten the finish. White paint is a bit more forgiving of swirl and scratches but after seeing the 105 next to it I'm going to have to go over it all again. The deepness of the reflections is night and day. The Ultimate polish used with a D/A and polishing pad seems to work just fine with this. 105 has a long work window and removal is easy and painless. I'll stick with this going forward. I'm sure most of my paint issues are self-inflicted but most learning curves are. Keep in mind this is an 8 oz. bottle but it was a perfect size for my needs. Hope this saves somebody some M100 grief.

Removed trunk scratches.
Did the job on my trunk moderate scratches. Used this with drill mounted pads - Kshineni 3 Inch Drill Buffing pads - used the medium buffing pad, not too much pressure. And checked work every 2 minutes. Prob about 8 minutes total of work and outstanding results. Much better than expected.
