Semita de El Salvador - Salvadorian Pastry (Pineapple, 8)

These are legit, made in El Salvador. Great flavor

Although there are several panaderias near me that sell pan dulces and pan Salvadoreno, they don't always have a delicious Semita like this one. It is what I remember as a child. Cost is also very comparable to local markets.

Delicious! Makes me miss home in El Salvador. I’ve ordered both flavors from this company y and they are both good. My kids love them both. I freeze them and they unthaw well. Make sure to toast them in a mini oven just for a few minutes to warm them to enjoy them warm. These are very flavorful and you can’t go wrong ordering them. Company ships quickly with no problems.

If you have ever eaten the real deal, you will be severely disappointed. First, without toasting, this has a soft feel to it. Ok I can live with that. But it also had a very weird taste. Some people in other reviews described it as an “old” taste, but I think it’s more of an “industrial” kinda metallic weird aftertaste? It’s very hard to describe but one thing is for sure, it’s gross. I tried toasting it but it never really seemed to get all that crispy, just mainly on the edges. Toasted, or heated up really, the aftertaste is not as strong but it’s still there. It’s like buying bagged bagels off the grocery store shelf after eating bagels from good bagel shops. It kinda has the taste but not really.Tell your Salvadorian family to come for a visit and bring a few hundred boxes of the real deal. Make sure to send me a box for warning you about this. It’s normally a delicious treat, but this is 8 dollars of yuck.

It was a bit pricey for what it was, even given that it was imported, however, it's delicious. My boyfriend is Salvadorian and this was a find childhood memory, which is why we purchased it. He said it was perfect.

This is tTHE BEST Semita de Piña I tasted in years,typical best Salvadorian pastries ! I would like to take this opportunity to thanks the owners, first they delivery in about 72 hours! Then the Thank you not was written by hand where they tell you to enjoy the pastries and last I love this bread I cannot have enough, I will definitely reorder soon,price is definitely worth it, I recommended 100% ,please try it you won't regretted ! As a pineapple lover, as stated in other posts, this is over rated. Although I may purchase again in the future, due to the pastry taste, it is not a favorite. More pineapple, please.
