## Overview

The PD58 Internally Threaded Drop-In Anchor is a robust fastening solution designed for solid masonry and uncracked concrete. With a zinc-plated carbon steel body and a secure wedge mechanism, it meets stringent building codes and offers an impressive ultimate tensile strength of 16,500 lb, making it ideal for heavy-duty applications.

## Description

The Wej-It PD58 POWER-Drop internally threaded drop-in anchor includes a wedge mechanism to create a secure hold within solid masonry and solid uncracked concrete, and meets 2000 International Building Code and 2000 International Residential Code specifications. The anchor body and wedge clip are made of corrosion-resistant zinc-plated carbon steel. The wedge clip expands within the drilled hole to secure the anchor in place. A safety shoulder above the clip provides support when the anchor is under severe strain. When installed, the anchor does not protrude from the drilled hole, enabling flush anchoring of an object to the mounting surface. The anchor's allowable values may be increased 33.3% for short-term loading in resisting earthquake or wind loads. The included setting tool is externally threaded and has a washer and nut that can be placed to achieve a desired anchor depth. Once the setting tool has been threaded into the anchor and the anchor has been placed into the drilled hole, a hammer or mallet (sold separately) is used to drive the setting tool downward until the nut contacts the mounting surface. Tightening the nut sets the anchor and releases the setting tool from the anchor. An item can be mounted by inserting a threaded fastener (sold separately) through it and into the anchor.SpecificationsAnchorDrill DiameterMin. Hole DepthMin. Review: Worked Perfectly in My Application - Just moved, and needed to set anchors for a lift in the new garage/workshop. These are the anchors specified by the lift manufacturer. I've now installed this lift in two locations, plus two others for friends. I used these anchors for all of them. For this installation, 16 anchors are set into concrete under a porcelain tile floor. I've been drilling the holes in the concrete myself for the previous installations, but because of the tile I decided to let a commercial concrete coring company do the drilling this time. A 1" hole is made through the tile, plus an additional 1/8" into the top of the concrete. Then, a 7/8" hole is made in the concrete to a total of 6 1/2" deep. That lets the anchor sit down completely in concrete with no contact with the tile. The anchors set easily using the method described in Wej-It's instructions. The installation depths are adjusted down an inch in consideration of the tile. I add lubrication to the threads on the installation tool (a long bolt...) where the nut is used to draw the anchor up to set it. Otherwise, with straight well-cleaned holes, there was no drama at all setting the enchors. I left K's 4Runner (our heaviest car) on the lift a few inches off the floor for a couple test/observation days. There is no discernable movement. The torque on the bolts is the same as when I initially set the posts, indicating that nothing has moved or stretched. It's now safe for mrs dr bob's hubby to use the lift.
Review: Max Jax is not going anywhere - Exactly what I needed for my MaxJax lift after moving to new location. Great quality

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I ordered the 1/2-13 inserts and need to verify the drill size needed. is it 5/8"?**
A: Yes - 5/8 drill, min 4 in deep, 2 1/2 turns to set for Wej-it PD12

**Q: My maxjax lift came with xpd-58, are the pd-58 the same?**
A: Yes. i have a MaxJax and the anchors the came with it and these pd-58's that I ordered from Amazon are exactly the same - even came in the same box.

**Q: do the anchors come with bolts?**
A: It does NOT come with the mounting bolts. It comes with one short bolt and washer - they refer to it as the setting tool. Then you buy whatever length bolts and washers are required to mount your item. I used them to mount a 2 post lift in my garage. Worked great, but just be sure your cement is thick enough if you mount something like a lift. In a factory or shop with a thicker floor - this would not be an issue. Hammer them in below flush (per the instructions) as they do pull up quite a bit as you tighten the setting bolt to lock it in place.

**Q: Can you use epoxy with these?**
A: I would recommend against it. The outside surface of the anchor is smooth. The anchor depends on that little sleeve above the wedge expanding as the anchor is drawn back up towards the surface during installation. Tension on the bolt into the anchor actually increases the grabbing power in the drilled hole. Epoxy would prevent that from happening. There are dedicated anchors intended for use with epoxy.
