LUCKY DAY (2019) BD DGTL

When red (Luke Bracey) finally gets out of jail for safecracking the brother of someone he "killed" (Crispin Glover) comes to town to get revenge, so much for living a quiet life with his family. This is one of those wacky what is going to happen next off the wall kind of movies. I enjoyed it a lot and I will recommend it but only to a limited audience. This will not be everyones cup of tea. Pulp Fiction fans will. The acting is fun and I do love Luke Bracey, Crispin is having a great time, I can tell.

Decent movie

Entertaining and Quirky! I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Enjoyed it and it had lots of laughs and action.

Chrispin made the movie worth watching. The movie can be slow moving and stuff at the end. A remake of Tarentino movie.

Be careful when buying from 3rd party sellers. The advertise as including the digital copy, but often they do not.

I unwrapped the Blu-ray opened it up and there is no digital code piece of paper. It says at the top of the Blu-ray “ Blu-ray and digital“ I would’ve given it 4 stars. Yeah it’s predictable etc. but it is fun popcorn entertainment. But I’m giving it one star because I depend on the digital code! I am a quadriplegic! So very limited use of my hands that’s why I mainly buy movies with digital codes. I love the physical copy for when the Internet is down or I want a cleaner picture. The movie was shipped and provided by Amazon not a third-party seller, so I was very surprised. Also there is no security tape at the top of the case.

Lucky Day is an odd film, revolving around an Australian guy fresh out of jail (you'd think he'd be deported being this is set in America, or Canada well I wasn't really sure, a lot of French speaking is thrown into the plot, such as his daughter has decided to only speak French, but he's not). There's subtitles when that happens. But the reason to watch is for Crispin Glover (Marty's dad Back to the Future) who plays both the most ruthless killer hitman guy and weirdest one at the same time.

Je voulais voir ce film que j'ai râté au cinéma (à moins qu'il soit paru direct en vidéo dans nos contrées), étant fan de Roger Avary & Quentin Tarantino.Relativement court (1h40 générique compris), ce film suit les mésaventures de Red sorti tout fraichement de prison, qui retrouve son épouse & sa fille afin de vivre une vie paisible. Ce qui n'est pas du goût d'un étrange tueur à gages...Un casting surprenant où Mark Dacascos, Tomer Sisley, Crispin Glover ou Nadia Farès se côtoient.L'image est très nette (pas de grains) et très lumineuse. Côté son, les pistes audio DTS-HD 5.1 tant VO que VF sont relativement généreuses mais le film peut se voir (ou s'entendre) sans home-cinéma.Un film gentillet à regarder pour son casting détonnant un soir entre potes.

Je ne connaissais pas ce cinéaste mais ce qui est sûr c’est qu’il est très probablement un disciple de Quentin Tarantino et Robert Rodriguez. L’histoire est classique mais elle est filmée de façon fort originale, les scènes de violence ensanglantée alternent avec des dialogues hautement philosophiques et nous entraînent de surprise en surprise. Et comme ses modèles, le réalisateur fait appel à d’anciennes gloires qui ne sont plus du tout « bankables » (Crispin Glover, Mark Dacascos, Nadia Farès et Clifton Collins Jr.), pour mettre un peu de vernis dans une distribution composée majoritairement d’inconnus. Bref, j’ai passé un moment agréable.
