Great! Very eye opening
This is a great book for those who may not know all the man made laws of Roman catholicism. I learned a lot from it. I bought extras to share with others. The object of the author is to honor God and his true word. Very helpful.

very SAD. This church has deceived sincere believers for 17 ...
This is one of those very few books from someone who actually spent much of his life INSIDE the Roman Catholic Church. He does NOT speak as an outsider, but as one who knows this church, its theology, its players, AND its ugly core from actual experience. If you have ANY doubts whether the Roman Catholic Church of today is TOTALLY DIVORCED from the Church of Jesus Christ and the Apostles of the first century AD, THIS is the book you need to read! REVEALING, POWERFUL and actually, very SAD. This church has deceived sincere believers for 17 CENTURIES and now Richard Bennett has let the cat out of the bag! He has EXPOSED this so-called "church" for what it REALLY is... the "synagogue of Satan": homosexual priests, lesbian convents, and seminaries steeped in DEBAUCHERY and FILTH. This is a FABULOUS and EYE-OPENING work that deserves to be read by ANYONE aspiring to follow in the footsteps of CHRIST -- NOT Mary!

the author did a good job with this one
The author starts with his testimony, He later gives a history of the Catholic Church including the Churches response to the protestant reformation (horrific things the Church did to counter the reformation). Then the whole rest of the book is laying out Catholic dogma on various issues, and then he provides the protestant rebuttal to everything, citing every source for Catholic dogma and citing every single Bible verse he uses against it.Richard Bennet was a Catholic for 48 years, 22 of them as a priest, now he has a ton of videos on youtube going against Catholicism. He also compiled the books "Far From Rome, Near to God, Testimonies of Fifty Converted Catholic Priests" And "The Truth Set Us Free, Twenty Former Nuns Tell Their Stories"Which I plan on reading soon as well.East of Eden is a rather easy read, and I think its put together pretty well.I recommend it for everyone.I might add here as well, I think it is laid out rather well, however not all of it seems to be written in a way that's intended to rub off gently on Catholics, so keep that in mind if your interested.

A comparison of the Roman Catholic Religion with Biblical Christianity
Richard Bennett does a fairly good job of identifying those areas where the Roman Catholic Church has wandered from Biblical Christianity. I only gave 4 stars instead of 5, because in some cases I think he was overly critical or engaged in small amounts of circular logic. Anyway, if you want to know why people sometimes leave the Roman Catholic Church when they truly start believing in Jesus Christ and regarding the Holy Bible as Truth, you should read this book.

Wonderful book. I learned so much about Catholicism from this book. I thought I knew alot but my eyes were really opened my eyes to the way catholism teaches just the opposite of what the true gospel teaches. If you have questions and really want truth, you need to read this book.

Revealing the Catholic theology
This excellent book reveals the Catholic theology and how it contradicts the Bible. Without being hardhearted (on the contrary), and written from his own experience as a Catholic priest.

Very good evaluation of the Catholic Church and its teaching
Richard Benett became a Roman Catholic Priest and after about 20 years of service he had a serious accident in which he nearly lost his life. After that he began to seriously study the Scriptures, the Bible. After fourteen years of contrasting the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church to Biblical Truth, he was convicted by the Gospel message by God's grace alone and in 1986 he formally left the Roman Catholic Church and his priesthood.Richard Bennett has sincs founded an evangelistic minstry called "Berean Beacon" which brings the truth of God#s plan of salvation to many worldwide. All through his book is shining the great love and glory of God that He reveals in the Bible which contents all the Truth of God people ought to know and which is able to show the way to salvation: "Jesus Christ says: I am the Way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. "(Bible, Gospel of John 14,6)
