I have had an Aeron chair for years. The one I bought was used, and I believe it was already at least on its second gas cylinder, since that one fit so low in the chair that it almost scraped the ground. It stopped working, so I decided to buy a new one. It suddenly occurred to me that I didn't have to buy the original length cylinder. I could get one that was a bit taller so it would sit up a bit higher and fit my 6'3" body a little better. This is the cylinder that I bought. It is working perfectly. It sits me up nice and high where I want to be. It fits in the chair better than the previous cylinder did. I'm very satisfied.

Installation was easy. Removing the old one was terrible. I’m 6’ 4” and over 300 lbs. so the old one was practically welded in it was so snug. But once this was in, what a difference. I’m fairly evenly distributed so my legs aren’t extremely long but most chairs are way too low. With the new 3” wheels and this new piston, my chair is perfect. The piston is fully collapsed at the lowest height and it’s perfect for my legs and posture now. I’m having to raise my desk 3 inches to be able to slide under it because it is also too short. Overall, it’s nice to finally have a chair that fits right and won’t fail on me because this piston is the right size. Maybe even a bit too tall.

Easy installation. Not certain that the weight rating is correct. I think this will work better for someone who weighs under 200lb not the 400lb rating. I weigh over 200 but I'm over 6ft and the mechanism drops a little when I sit on the chair. The mechanism is smooth. I just don't believe the weight rating.

I am so pleased with this chair extension for my “meditation chair” as im (5’0”) sitting for 8-12 hours a day and im happy to be able to have more of reach to my paintings from the chair vs constantly moving the easel. It went higher than expected so im thrilled I can get rid of my other stool. I just received and installed it today so fingers crossed the hydraulics hold!

Since iv bought this i use the my chair on low setting. But had option of high setting. After leas than a year i tried to lift and its completely shot will not hold a lick.

If you are reading this review you are about to attempt to change the gas cylinder in your office chair. These are the tools: a medium hammer, a hex driver for removing the seat bottom, and a place to work where you can make noise. Steps are simple: 1. Put the chair on its side and whack the plastic base off while holding on to the top. It make take a few blows; you can also strike the bottom of the lift cylinder to get it moving; 2. Remove the seat bottom of the chair by loosening the screws on the bottom -these are usually hex drive screws; 3. The tricky part I learned by accident is take the chair and hold it upside down by the old cylinder and strike the flat part of the metal frame; you may have hit more than once; this where it is handy to have heavier hammer; I did this over a low table outside; 4. The weight of the metal chair structure will help separate off the cylinder; 5. Put the chair bottom on the frame; 6. Insert the new cylinder and then put on the plastic spider base;6. Put the chair right side up. Note: I put a higher lift cylinder to get more positions. Cost of the cylinder was about $22.

Mon ancien vérin ne tenait plus la hauteur, la chaise descendait toute seule. Ce modèle a parfaitement fait l’affaire ! Installation facile, il s’est monté sans problème. Depuis, la chaise reste bien stable et le réglage en hauteur est fluide. Très bon rapport qualité/prix. Je recommande pour redonner une seconde vie à une chaise usée.

I wanted to change my chair because it was too low until I discovered this bigger cylinder. It was easy to install once I finally managed to get the old one out (use proper tools to make it easier on yourself). So far it performs great and it’s actually much higher than I originally expected so the chair can go way past the desk if needed even though I use it on the lowest setting right now. It seem to be universal so it would probably fit on any regular office chair

This was a good replacement cylinder to make my chair higher on an taller desk. It fit my chair perfectly and is smooth to go up and down. Installation was easy and this was my first time replacing a cylinder. No complaints so far, would recomend. Just a general note: If your replacing an older chair I would recommend to buy some lubricant and a pipe wrench. The old chair cylinder was very hard to get out. This new cylinder went in easy. Lo compre porque el piston de mi silla era demasiado bajo y necesitaba uno mas alto y este cumple con todas mis expectivas. Facil de poner, muy alto y robusto AVISO: el de 55cm es MUY alto. Yo mido 1,87 y al minimo llego de puntillas al suelo (no me importa porque lo que buscaba era que el reposabrazos quedase a la altura de la mesa y eso lo cumple perfecto) pero si es verdad que con el modelo de 45 cm hubiese tenido mas que suficiente
