Lucid Dreaming and beyond: How far down the rabbit hole do you want to go?
After engaging in many of the practices described in Andrew Holecek's “Lucid Dreaming Workbook” on a daily and nightly basis, as well as diligently tracking progress/challenges in my Dream Journal, I had my first “proper” lucid dream!Prior to this period, I was lucky to experience a brief whiff of 1 or 2 dreams per month for what has felt like years. I used to be an avid dreamer many years ago, so I am thrilled to have rekindled this relationship with my dreams again. But – as awesome as it was to experience that lucid dream – Andrew uniquely presents lucid dreaming in a more foundational context that reveals even more stunning explorations:“Bidirectionality” is one of the major themes in this book which describes a “2-way street” between the dreaming and waking mind... the unconscious and conscious mind... the subtle and gross... mind and body. These pairs are mutually revealing and influential. I relate to it now like a conversation that I intend to become increasingly sensitive to.Bidirectionality has helped me recognize that my lack in having lucid dreams with regularity during the night is intimately tied to my non-lucidity (i.e. distractedness, mindlessness) during the day.As a long-time practitioner of Meditation, I now see how immature my practice is and why Sleep Yoga is "the measure of the path" according to the wisdom traditions. But in the spirit of seeing “failures as opportunities” which Andrew encourages throughout the book - these recognitions (in themselves the practice of lucidity) reveal my blind spots, which then empowers me to address them. The wide-ranging practices help expose and fix these blind spots.“Lucidity” / “Non-Lucidity” is another one of the major themes Andrew illuminates in this book. A nighttime dream – like a daytime thought – is just another form of content that Mind relates to. Working with dreams is more about working with Mind itself, and how Mind perceives/creates Reality...This workbook packs a big punch and doesn't hold anything back. It's offered in the spirit of “Pick Your Own Adventure” depending on how deep down the rabbit hole you want to go.It is both thoughtfully-paced and -sequenced: Bold yet gentle given the untold depths it invites you to explore, lucid dreaming and beyond. It is also immaculately comprehensive. From “sleep hygiene” and benefits, to the Nighttime and Daytime Practices (both Eastern and Western), as well as practical guidance on how to handle common challenges along the way (especially for people like me who were born into a “waking consciousness-dominated culture”) - it even includes very practical information on Insomnia and Sleep Apnea. For me, this quote from Andrew Holecek's “Lucid Dreaming Workbook” captures the magic it has helped to unlock for me - and I hope for you: “By the time you finish this book, you will see that lucid dreaming is about so much more than just waking up to your dreams. It's about waking up to your life.”

Wow! this book is a gem, with the right intention it may light a way to experience some magic.
It takes a true master to synthetize and present a clear, logical and inviting set of guidelines on how to experience magic in your dream life. I do not like sensational statements that promise instant achievements or gratification. This Lucid Dreaming Workbook does not read like an info commercial. The format of the book is very user friendly as a workbook. Andrew Holececk combines scientific and eastern methods outlining a path, pointing a way for a practitioner to find his or her on way. Even if the practitioner does not achieve lucidity in the dream state, I suspect that the exercises will bring a different awareness to all aspects of life. A must have for all dreamers!

Fantastic insight! Readable, Awakening!
I am amazed at how much insight and practical/tactical how-to wisdom is able to fit in this completely readable workbook by Andrew Holecek. It is not at all intimidating, so long as you check your ego at the door for the greater good. The organization of thought surrounding lucid dreaming throughout the book gives even the seasoned scholar opportunity to reflect on how so many diverse subjects not only are related, but add to the underlying understanding of broad principles. It is a treat to have a polymath draw upon his diverse resources to present such a digestible, actionable guide!

Just OK
I felt the book seemed more about meditation than dreaming. To me the book was just OK.

Repetitive, redundant ideas, not to the point.
Main technique perhaps could be presented in 5-10 pages, rest of the book is idle chatter.Waste of time to read.

Excellent
I've just received the book, so have not used and explored it thoroughly yet. I believe Andrew Holecek to be arguably the most expert teacher available in this field and am hopeful the use of the book will help me through my difficulties in the night-time practices. He is an engaging writer; very articulate, erudite and enthusiastic.
