This works
This filter looks exactly like the photo with green beads; it fits and works properly. My Bissell steam mop was not working due to a clogged filter. I purchased a new filter from a different seller but it arrived with brown beads (which looked suspiciously like my used filter). I installed it anyway, but my steam mop still didn't work. Once I installed this filter, though, the steam mop started working properly. This product appears to be a genuine Bissell product (or at least a very good facsimile) and I would purchase this filter again.

Works great with my Bissell 1867-7 Steam Mop
Changing filters was easy, and it was easy to tell by the color change from green to grayish/black that a change was needed. Also my mop seems to make weird noises when the filter is bad, I don't know if anyone else has noticed that.It is recommended you change the filter when it is used up or you can do permanent damage to your machine.I also have found that using a tiny bit of vinegar in the water tank keeps all the internal workings clean and mold free. The filter just pulls up and off and the new one just snaps right in place and the water tank goes on top. Couldn't be more simple.

Essentail for your Bissel Steam mop
Genuine Bissle product at a reasonable price. Designed to remove calcium and other impurities from your water which overall improves steam mop quality. These last a long time and rarely have to be replaced. This filter is probably what puts the bissle ahead of the other steam mops. I already filer the water before putting it in the mop, but this takes it to the next level. Floors are sparkling clean and no harsh chemicals needed.

Just a replacement filter
The bissell steam mop is a great unit. We had it for over 6 months now and use it frequently. But the problem is in the filters. The plastic casing is weak and cracks easily. While cleaning, the steam mop accidentally bumped into the coffee table and instantly cracked in a spiderweb shape. I had to shut it down and remove the water reservoir and clean up the mess. I wish they made the case a bit thicker. However, I ended up buying 2 water filters from amazon as a replacement of the original in case it cracks again. Great price and shipping took 9 days from the time I ordered it. I'm happier now that I have my steam mop working again.

Beads may clog your unit and prevent it from steaming
Got the product on time. At first glance the beads in the filter appeared not to fill the entire plastic cartridge. If I shook the cartridge the beads would move around. I assumed this might be normal prior to first use. I did not pre-soak the cartridge, which may be necessary. Used a few times and everything worked great.Eventually the steam mop stopped producing the appropriate amount of steam. After troubleshooting I came to realize that the beads had escaped the cartridge and were clogging the triggering solenoid that releases water into the steaming unit. I also noticed clogging in the connecting tubes from the filter all the way to the heating element. I was unable to successfully remove the beads and now the unit produces no steam because of damage to the triggering solenoid spring.

Fit 1867
Just wanted to add that I have a Bissell 1867 I bought in 2005. Some of the reviews made it sound like the filter didn’t fit, but mine fits and works fine.

I'm on my 3rd replacement.
If only there was a way to bleach this, and not damage the machine. Mold builds up after just a few uses, if not careful. Bissell only recommended removing the water tank after each use, but I have to remember to remove the filter, too. Otherwise, water sits in it and has no way to air out. I'm definitely going to get a filter-less mop the next time around. Product is okay.

Great Replacement Part
This replacement filter is perfect! It helped increase the water flow. It’s a decent price to renew an older steam mop!!
