Hisense M470BSA Sero 7 Pro (7" Android 8 GB) Tablet

I purchased the Hisense Sero Pro 7 based upon Amazon reviews and scouring the net for other reviews. I am finding this tablet works for me. My wife and I purchased the Samsung Tab 4 8.0 tablet for her. Is this a Tab 4? Of course not. Is it a good, little tablet that does what most people buy a tablet for? The answer is a solid yes. I purchased a 32 GB micro SD card to use so I can add music, photos, etc. I saw an answer in one of the questions regarding this tablet how to move the apps to the SD card and save space on the internal memory which is 8 GB. I have not tried moving the apps yet, however, will do so in the near future. I use the tablet with auto screen brightness and that works very well for me. It can go very bright IMHO which is too bright for me. I guess that tells you this tablet can get bright. The screens scroll smooth and the apps open up quickly. Would I like an 8" tablet? Yes I would and that is what my wife uses. I wanted to save some money and when I purchased the Hisense it was $89 and change. The price drop was around for a few days or so and then went back up the current price. The tablet has a solid feel and quite a nice looking body. The texture on the back feels good to the hands. All that said, I bought a nice case on Amazon to have protection of the tablet and screen. It works and has good sound for music. Two speakers on the back really help. Are there better tablets? Of course and my wife has one of them which is really outstanding. If you have the money, I would opt for a Samsung since we are an Android family. For the budget conscious like me .... buy one great tablet an one budget tablet and be content. Happy wife equals happy life. Tab 4 to her and Hisense to me. We are happy! Update: January 4, 2014 Tablet still going strong. Does what it needs too and can more apps on it than I thought considering it only has 8GB of internal memory. 7" screen works for me and can read Kindle books and everything else on the Hisense Pro. Just an aside ... if you want to have fun on your Hisense be sure to get Trivia Crack. Loads of fun and will keep your mind busy thinking of the answers.

don not buy this tablet, Great tablet when working, I have owned 2, charging plug outlet, will go bad and you will not get to charge. If your tablet is out of warranty Hisense will not repair it at all, even if you are willing to pay to have it fixed. They will only repair it under warranty. NO service centers available at all, must use a 3rd party service. How do I know all this, I was on the phone with a Hisense representative for over 10 minutes and this is what they told me. If you don"t believe me Google Hisense service centers, you will find none on the internet.

I like this Tablet. It has all the features I wanted at a really good price compared to others with the same features. In particular, I wanted GPS and HDMI output, not always easy to find. Also, the screen resolution at 1280x800 is good for that price, and the display lives up to its reputation of being beautiful. It looks sharp as a tack with saturated colors. I'm a new tablet and Android user, so I can't give an in depth comparison to other units, although I played with a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8" for about a month. I found the 8" size of the Samsung just a little too big for porting around. However, if I had an android phone, I might choose an even bigger tablet, such as 10" or more, to use at home for comfortable web browsing, email, etc, and use the phone when on the road. As a universal device, the 7" is probably best for me. I still much prefer a desktop computer with a large display for productivity. I am disappointed with many "apps" in that they seem to fall short in options or are not intuitive to use. All part of the Android/tablet world. I haven't installed too many apps yet, mainly exploring what came with the tablet. I miss many things I take for granted on my computer, such as a file browser. I can't find anything native yet Seems funny to download files from the web and have no idea where they are -- more like absurd. Yet people seem happy with this world of personal devices. Depends on what you want to accomplish, I guess. Speed of the Sero Pro seems adequate for everything I'm doing. Dual core should at least keep you working while background downloads, etc. are happening. Storage was about 4-5 Gig remaining out of the box. I expected a little more, but apps don't seem to require that much, so I think it is adequate if you don't intend to install monstrous sized apps or gazillions of them. But I would feel a lot more comfortable if there were another 8 GB app space. I do intend to get a micro SD card which I presume can be used for downloads, photos, movies, etc. with no problem. The trick will be learning how to tell apps to use the SD storage instead of internal. Wireless hookup went without a hitch, just had to enter my wifi credentials. The stuff that is a never-ending puzzle is how much you need to rely on online "accounts" such as Google, etc. They are always trying to force you to sign in to do things, it is not clear whether you really need to, or they just want to track you. I think you really have to do some deep homework to understand the device world and how to strip down your android or configure it for minimal reliance on commercial interests; especially important for phones where data usage charges can apply. Camera does the job, pictures look quite good and it can take pics in fairly low light. If you want cell tower connectivity, like "3G", etc., this tablet does not have it. It does have some interesting local connection features which are beyond my experience to comment on at this time. From a hardware standpoint, I think this tablet is a great value -- perhaps the best bang for the buck out there. I wish Sero would provide Android OS updates for these devices. If they did, I think people would be even more interested in acquiring one.
