Made of steel

I had second thoughts . . . but they disappeared. Higher quality than expected.
First thingS you need to know: Yes this is the same ACCIAIO you see from other buyers. Before review remember this item costs $150 bucks so keep expectations in check. It is cast, not forged. Description so poor hard to tell what is cast steel and what is cast iron. Anvil surface appears harder than cast iron. Spark test inconclusive, but ground horn smoother and it grinds like steel not cast iron. I did have second thoughts after hitting the buy button. Mostly about where the anvil would live in my shop. Within an hour I went back in Amazon to cancel order. NO CANCELLATION IS PERMITTED. Just be aware of this. You hit “buy” this anvil it’s yours. No cancellation - return allowed, but you pay shipping. 66 lb anvil expensive to ship. So I waited for arrival. Didn’t take too long. Week or so.Upon arrival the box was destroyed. UPS driver cursing (just kidding) There was a tiny hammer Inside that was broken, but anvil ok. Frankly I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of the casting. Don’t like the blue color I received, but it’s ok. Saw a guy grind off all the blue paint on YouTube & thought it would be easier to just scorch it with my torch and make it darker. Yep that worked. Bottom line. Worth the money yes. This is a great starter anvil particularly for small shop (66 lbs - 30 kg) very much worth $150.

Great and inexpensive
I have been looking for an anvil that performs well. They are in the $800 or more. I am a handyman but I did not want to spend that much. The ones sold in eBay (used) tend to be expensive too as well. This one I saw in a web video. I do not remember the presenter but he compared his 2 top choices for reasonable prices. This one was the best of the two. I bought is and I am extremely happy with it. I have since bought additional attachments from other vendors and I am really enjoying this product. It has been very useful to shape metal. It is well forged and so fat is holding very well. I recommend it based on my experience with it.

Got what I paid for
I'm not a big fan of seeing noticeable areas where spackle was used to fill in damaged areas. Would not recommend this product to anyone.

Pretty solid anvil
This is a good sturdy anvil. It did however have a lot of filler in the sides from pitting I assume. I also weighed it and it was 64 pounds instead of 66 like it said. Overall it is a good anvil for the shop.

Nice Product
Nice, fairly priced, sturdy anvil for hobbyist and smaller forging. Arrived on time. Surfaces were flat and no deformities. Overall a good product. Weight 66 lbs.

Quality and value
I despise promoting yet another imported item but I just don't have the capital for much else right now. This is a cast steel anvil, not forged, but it NOT cast iron. It has a hardened face and is a perfect beginner blacksmith/blade-smith anvil. Even if I had a 200 lb+ anvil I think this little guy is worth having around. It has great rebound and is serving me well. When I graduate to a big professional anvil this will remain a part of my shop.

Finally arrived and I am pleased with it
The media could not be loaded. The anvil is solid quality and for the price it is worth every penny. As a beginning knife maker it should do the job and more. We had some issues with shipping but that was no fault of the seller. They worked with me the whole way and even did a "goodwill refund" although they did not have to. It was worth the wait and should be put to good use soon. Thanks again for the prompt communication.

Quality anvil.
I am a beginner blacksmith and I wanted to get an entry level anvil. This fit the bill, it wasn’t to expensive and contrary to other anvils on Amazon this one had an option for free shipping. The anvil did arrive two weeks late, but the company worked with me and gave $10 back for the tardy delivery.
