the best teaching book I have ever read!
All of the failures and successes I have had in my adult Bible class were addressed. It confirmed in me what I did right and what I need to improve on. Not only that....it helps you to further evaluate yourself in future sessions; to continue your learning from here on out focused specifically and relevantly. I can't wait to develop future lessons and teach again following the principles taught in this book."Creative Bible Teaching" should be required reading for anyone teaching any age group, at any level....period! And if a Senior Pastor wants to get an idea of how classes leading up to the sermon should be structured, this is it. This book opens the door to visualizing how to design a church to reach the flock at all age levels.I plead with you, all teachers and preachers of God's Word, to read this book, put into practice it's methodology, and encourage others to do the same.God bless.

It is truly in excellent condition which makes me very happy. I mark in my books a lot and always keep them for life so I am very pleased I was able to get this fast, and as described by the seller. I recommend this seller and the book, already begun reading it, it's a good one!

The value of excellent customer service
Dear Chillin Books--What a delight it is for me to write this review of your organization!! It is most unfortunate that I cannot see your face(s) to express--personally, these thoughts: I recently had an experience with a book seller at Amazon--who is the glaringly--direct opposite of the service you give!!! If I could give you 50,000 stars--I would!!! The review of that dealer Amazon would not print--it was not nasty--it was the absolute TRUTH. What a pity Amazon's customers will not know the truth of that dealer--until it is too late. So that the readers of this review will better understand my words--let me tell you all a little bit about my work history, education and skills: as a teenager, I worked in the U.S. Post office and later as a Shipping Clerk for a school book publisher. My education is Marketing, Marketing Management, Advertising and Small Business for the U.S. Department of Defense. I KNOW EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE--WHEN I SEE IT!!! This is what you give your customers. The book you sent me, first--you took the time to securely wrap it in plastic---so that it could not open in shipping/handling or be damaged by any liquids etc.. Then you additionally wrapped the book in cardboard before placing the book in it's shipping container. Again, your attention to customer service was demonstrated at this point: the shipping envelope was carefully chosen to fit the book that it would enclose--so that in transport, the book would not move/shift inside. Remember that other dealer--NONE OF THIS HAPPENED!!! As a result--I received a damaged book!! Again, I commend you for your service. It is an honor to recommend you to all who order from Chilln Books--they can rest assured that you respect them as your customers--the time and money that they spend with you.

Your Head, Your Heart, Your Hands.
"Creative Bible Teaching" goes beyond teaching the Bible as information. It is vital to help the student leap the gap between the Biblical world and today’s world. To do this, one must first begin with the bridge principle; it is the big idea in a passage expressed in today’s terms. Then one should state the pedagogical idea; apply the idea to the needs of the students. One should ask, “How do I want my student to change?” Bloom identifies three different areas of learning. First is cognitive learning, which is head knowledge. Second is affective learning, which is in the heart. Third is behavioral learning, which is represented by the hands. Acts 2:37 addresses all three of these areas of learning. First the people heard, then they were cut to the heart, then they asked, “What shall we do?” All truth starts in your head, moves to your heart, and must be manifested by your hands. Your head is cognitive, your heart is emotion, and your hands are behavioral. The author explains his simple structure for planning a lesson. The method for organizing a lesson can be remembered by four rhyming words: Hook, Book, Look, Took. The hook is the way you capture the attention of your students. It is used to capture attention, to break the ice, to identify a need, and set a goal for the class. The book is the way you bring the truth of God’s word to the situation. The look explains the implications of the passage to the student’s life. Finally, the took is the response of the student to the lesson in his or her daily life. If there is no concrete response then the lesson is just abstract knowledge.

Great book for learning how to teach!
This book was a great help with my class Principles of Bible teaching. I learned so much from the techniques & information that Mr. Richards talked about. It has helped me in developing messages for the Youth at my church. I am the youth Minister and prior to using this book for a class I was unable to coordinate my messages in an organized fashion. Mr. Richards teaches the HB LT method: hook, book , look, took; and it is phenomenal! Anyone who is becoming a minister or preacher or even just a public speaker should use this book to springboard into their own teaching and development method. This book was a great help not only in the class but also in life and in my Ministry.
