Experiment successfull, great product.
Never used powered eggs before, only heard jokes from military about how bad they are. I bake infrequently, and got tired of tossing stink bomb eggs out. I ordered this as a first test of concept for use in baking. I looked at several products, and Did not catch that this is a mix, not just eggs. Ended up not mattering, as they did a very good job in place of fresh eggs. Very little taste difference in cornbread, of muffins. Good to have around in case of emergency.

I bought this for a backpacking trip never having cooked dehydrated eggs before and with low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised by the texture and flavor, a perfectly acceptable way to incorporate scrambled eggs into morning breakfasts on the trail. Must be mixed with some hot water before you can cook it up into a scramble, but I was very pleased that the water/egg mixture cooked up in about a minute. If you pair this with some dehydrated veggies, you could make a much tastier omelette than the mixes you might buy from Backpacker's Pantry and similar brands. Will buy again for future trips.

I was the only one who liked them! Key is the water ratio
These are just identical to the ones we used to get from Government programs growing up. I was the only one who liked them! Key is the water ratio. For scrambling, don’t make it as as thin as traditional eggs, keep it closer to a creamy batter. Use good butter, however, I prefer margarine just for these. Add salt for taste! Finally, don’t think they should taste like eggs. Adjust your expectations to taste something different! Then your tastebuds won’t be confused about what it should taste like! I think they are a bit pricey. But was not disappointed with product.

Fluffy scrambled eggs from powder? Science!
You guys, this is nuts. I was so very skeptical. I love to camp and backpack, so I bought this hoping I could maaaaybe have something roughly approximate to scrambled eggs while on the trail. My foodie intuition told me to ignore the instructions about mixing this 1:1 with water; instead I mixed it about 1.5:1, mix:water. Blend well. It turns into a thick cake batter-y-looking substance. Cooked over unreasonably high heat in a thin-bottomed stainless steel pot (true to trail conditions) with a little nugget of melted coconut oil (easier to pack than liquid fats) -- lo and behold! I got fluffy scrambled eggs with the right texture and the right taste. Wahoo!

Not quite what I was expecting when making scrambled eggs
Perhaps my expectations were too high and I thought these would turn out like normal scrambled eggs, and they didn't. It was my first time eating powdered eggs, and I've never tried freeze dried eggs either. Bought for a backpacking trip and tried making scrambled eggs with them with the ratio 2 parts egg to 3 parts warm water. Added salt, pepper and chili powder, and stirred well to become a thick battery consistency. Cooked it over my little camping stove with a little butter while stirring constantly so it didn't burn. The end appearance was strange (seemed almost oatmeal-y) but the texture was fine. Flavor was strange too, not like fresh eggs, but was okay when spooned over buttered toast. It may be good for powdered eggs but definitely don't expect it to be like fresh. I'll try again later for backpacking french toast.

Not worth backpacking in with.
As a first time powdered egg eater there is only one word for these powdered eggs, "GROSS"! Maybe if these are good for powdered eggs, but that would mean all powdered eggs are gross from my egg eating standards. Tried salt tried more butter, but they just tasted like flower and oatmeal with butter. Next trip if I really feel the need for eggs I will pack in fresh and put them in the stream to keep them cool.
