Affordable price
This is a very good phone for an affordable price. But there is some unnecessary apps I can't install. However it has very good specs like a good screen, good battery life, good cameras and a world of setting's to play with. Mindyou it dose lag abit when toggling through the phone.

Almost perfect
Fantastic phone for the money. It did work out more expensive when one adds up shipping vat ect but a fantastic phone the camera is brilliant, storage ect..all in all well worth the money..If l have one thing to say it's that it doesn't show up a phone number that one might have called before if the number is not saved in your contact list...this feature is something that most people probably don't need for me it is something l need. But otherwise I think it is near perfect..

Good mid range phone
Great phone for the price.Decent video and camera quality. During night time/low light isn't great, but still able to take alright shots.Finger print has a good response time.I would recommend checking out a review on GSMarean for more detail on phone picture taking quality.

Very solid deal for the price
I'm a big fan of the Xiaomi interface and software, I used to have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, so I just upgraded it, and although not much changes, the camera is surprisingly good, so I was very happy with that since I do take a lot of pictures. I wish it had also Contactless Payment, but that's a feature I don't really need since I already use contactless card. It does come with some preset apps, you can delete some, but the ones you can't just hide them away and they won't bother you anymore.Overall, if you're on a budget, this phone works wonders, nice interface, software, camera etc...

Good smartphone with a couple of major drawbacks
I've had my Redmi Note 8 for 6 months now. The phone has some great features for the price and a couple of major problems. The positives are, good screen, battery life and performance. The camera is excellent for the price (especially after installing gcam 7.3)Now the bad points. Firstly the software updates for this phone are very slow. My last security update was in May. The phone is still on Android 9 Pie with which it launched... There is no sign as to when it will be upgraded to Android 10 (with 11 having just been launched). The Note 7 series have been upgraded as has the 8 pro. While the lack of a system upgrade doesn't take anything away from what is a good phone for the price, it is disappointing. The lack of security updates is a much greater concern. The second major issue concerns WiFi/Bluetooth connectivity. Each function very well on there own, but if both are switch on at the same time then the performance of both functions drops dramatically. For Wifi, a 60mbps with Bluetooth switch off will drop to 15mbps with Bluetooth on. Signal range suffers similarly. With WiFi switched on Bluetooth becomes unreliable with poor range and constant disconnects. Used on their own the performance is excellent. A search on the net suggests that the problem is caused by both systems sharing the same antenna. The problem (and it's cause) is supposedly shared with other Redmi phones. Poor design if true...

Great product, came as described
The smartphone came in as described with a charger and black protective case, no headset. The quad AI camera on the back is really great. I think given the number of features including the long battery time, the 64GB capacity and the good camera quality, this is a very good value for money.

Excellent rival to your high end brands.
Thought I would go for a cheaper brand as I couldn't afford a Samsung or a Sony at the time, and I honestly don't think I'll go back. This phone is responsive, light weight and a decent screen. The camera is also impressive at this price range. For sure I'll be upgrading to the same brand next time.

Very impressed so far.
Previous phone was a Sony Experia Z3 which was a flagship model when I got it. The note 8 shows how quickly things move on. This was half the price and yet offers many more features. Only had it a few days but very impressed so far.
