I needed it to be away from the house because brick absorb lots of heat and also cold. Hanging this ‘birdhouse’ in a tree in the back yard gives my thermometer isolation from any external influences. So this hasp secures the bottom panel that gives me access to the transmitter to change the battery once per year. Even though it’s a strange use, it works well as a securing piece for my ‘birdhouse’.

It worked. I built an actual birdhouse to house my external thermometer transmitter. I needed it to be away from the house because brick absorb lots of heat and also cold.
