I wanted a can light. Hubby didn’t want to deal with that process. This was a great compromise with a similar feel to light a dark area formerly covered by boob light. Contemporary but disappears. Marriage saver.

It does what we want it to do and looks nice and very understated.

This is a nice-looking, bright light fixture. The light color is pretty cool, so it doesn't work in a living area - maybe good for a utility room. Light leaks up around the cover, so there's an odd ring of light around the base. (see picture)There seems to be a design flaw for mounting it, or a lack of flexibility, that may explain why so many reviews say hard to get it flush. The bolts that attach the fixture to the bracket are long, so if your connection box is not exactly ½" above the ceiling, i.e. mounted right above the sheetrock, the fixture will not be flush. In my case, my connection box is flush with the ceiling, so the fixture dangles ½" off the ceiling--totally inconsistent with the sleek, simple styling. I tried swapping the caps provided with the light for nuts I had on hand, in order to tighten the base against the ceiling. Then the bolts stick out below the base of the fixture. If I had put the top on, the bolts would have poked through the thin paper that simulates a glass cover. (See picture. Already had to return one when my finger went through the paper "glass" trying to push the top on the base. Be very careful not to apply any pressure to it.) So check first that your electric box is set into your ceiling about ½ - ¾", e.g. on top of the sheetrock, or you may have trouble making this work.Two workarounds for a box flush with the ceiling. First, you could put the nut above the bracket and ½" from the top of the bolt, effectively shortening the bolt. Not sure if that would stay tight. Alternatively, I used slightly shorter bolts I had on hand.In the end, returned because the color was too cold for my living room.

This light is perfect if you want a clean, sleek and modern look. The slim design is perfect for tight spaces, low ceilings or just modernizing a light fixture. I installed this product in my laundry room because I required a low profile design due to the ceiling and location of my door swing. The radius size and low profile is what drew me to this product and it fit perfectly. It was extremely easy to install and came well packaged with clear instructions. Ideally this is used for smooth textured ceilings or flat surfaces, but I was still able to install on plastered cement (or popcorn). Although it’s not perfectly flush, that’s not the products fault... as long as the wife approves and it’s hardly noticeable. The light is very bright and does not use bulbs. The cover is an opaque plastic that can easily be removed to clean or wipe down. Loved this light so much, I bought another to install in my boys closet.

I was able to install this without using the included hardware. It is light enough that once I had the wires attached, I didn't have to try to hold it while attaching the screws, making it a I one person job and I had shoulder surgery 4 months ago. It looks nice and I like the low profile. It's bright enough for our use. Since the electric consumption is so low, I don't care if it's left on full-time.

As others have said this isn’t really flush. Mounting hardware is a pain. One of the screws hit the light box. Not impressed with this light.
