Daddy (K Boys Book 1)

Wow! What a way to launch a new series from two of my favorite authors working together. This book pretty much had it all. I read through it in one setting and snapped at anyone trying to interrupt me!While it is a spin-off of these co-author’s awesome Ballsy Boys series, you don’t absolutely have to have read those to understand and love this, though you should because it’ll certainly enhance your experience. (Plus I don’t know why you wouldn’t want to anyway!) This has a bit of the same premise, which makes perfect sense as a spin-off; gay porn studio with a found family feel. However it’s executed a little differently and just perfectly, in a new setting and with some extra twists. I felt it had a bit more depth in some areas, perhaps due to the way Daddy Hunter & Joey connect. I love every bit of plot and character interaction in pretty much every way in both of these authors’ books, but the connection here had a distinct feel and progression. I really enjoyed the approach and their personalities, each had some unique characteristics that perfectly meshed, even when it might’ve seemed they wouldn’t because they were so different on the surface. Great character development and depth. The dialogue as well as the entire story flows well and has great moments of humor, a little drama, emotion, heat, and a lot of heart. Aside from Daddy & Joey we meet a lot of well done secondary characters, many of which I’m sure we’ll see again. I can’t wait to discover who will be featured throughout the series. Overall-loved it, and highly recommend it. I love both of these authors’ entire body of work, separately or together, and classify them as a must read...and re-read. This is no exception. I highly recommend it, and will be eagerly awaiting the next Kinky Boys!

The team has done it again! I was worried when I found out the boy was not only 40 but sure he was straight. Normally I’m not a fan of books that turn the obviously straight guy gay. In this case, it makes a lot of sense and you won’t feel like you need to suspend reality to get it. This book feels like more of what a real mature daddy boy relationship would look like, and it was still sexy to read. The book gets only 4 stars because I think the boy was too eager and open to his new sexuality without enough self questioning, but it’s a romance novel so it works just fine. You won’t be disappointed with this book.

Should a book about a kink inspired porn studio be this adorable? Apparently, yes. Hunter and Joey are just too flipping cute, reading about these two falling for one another was just about the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon. As with the Ballsy Boys series this series talks about the negative stigma associated with porn and BDSM, but it's done in a way that doesn't feel preachy or too in your face. I liked how even the supporting characters talked about porn and kink in a mature way - like there isn't anything to be embarrassed about, because there isn't. I also liked this was relatively low on the angst scale. There was a little drama, but it helped move the story along. I think it helped that the MC's were more mature, even though Joey was having a crisis of identity, he didn't let it consume him. It was a nice balance, and there was good chemistry between the MC's. I am looking forward to the next installment!

<strong>***Spoilers here and there*** </strong> I definitely enjoyed this book. I can’t wait to read the next book about. Bryon. But what I hope there’s more books to come in this series because I am curious about the other guys and want to learn about them as I did with the Ballsy boys. Not only that Joey was made for Hunter. I can’t tape in Daddy 😂 so I’m a stick with Hunter. But they was made for each other. Joey didn’t know that he liked men until he was around Hunter and saw that he needed a daddy. He took notice of that by being around Bear and Pixie. To see them together and then having to move away to help his parents well his dad and spend time with his mom who forgot who he is and his own dad. He found hope in Hunter and I think bringing Hunter around also helped with his dad coming around and his dad excepting him for being GAY. I liked Joey and Hunter together they are very cute together. Plus Lex family finally dropping that law suit was a blessing as well because all of what happened with Lex wasn’t Hunter fault. If you look at it, it was Lex fault because he didn’t tell anyone about his health issues he kept his health to himself. That what lead to his death and all of that wouldn’t have happened if he would’ve been truthful. But at least in the end his family finally got closure > I’m hoping they did.

This is a spin off from a series I've never read, and I didn't feel that I couldn't follow the story. Joey is a straight man who shoots porn. He moves to Vegas and meets Hunter, aka Daddy. All of a sudden he's not so sure of his parameters any more. I actually really enjoyed the first third, as both men felt unsure of the dynamic and how to progress it. And I really liked the notion that you could be surrounded by sex and still not know what turns you on. But it lacked drama after a while and felt a bit bogged down for me. I don't need artificial external drama, in fact I hate it when that happens, but everything just became too sweet and samey for me. I would still look for more by this author, but wouldn't rave about this one.

Joey may be “just” a cameraman for a porn studio, but he’s very good at it and his skills have propelled Ballsy Boys productions to the top spot. Perhaps it’s because as a straight man he doesn’t get distracted and can focus on capturing the scene at its best. Unfortunately, he needs to leave the studio so he can take care of his parents in Las Vegas. Luckily for him, a friend of the studio owner is opening up a new production company in Vegas, and could use a good cameraman. Hunter is looking to make a fresh start in Las Vegas, far from the memories that haunt him from his life in New York. There’s a lot more to this book than just a “gay-for-you” story that the blurb may suggest. Joey’s self-realization is handled with a great deal of sympathy, and deftly worked into the story so it feels natural and very realistic. Joey is an extremely believable character, as is his journey, even though he doesn’t fit in with the “conventional” ideas of sexuality. The scenes between Hunter and Joey are rather tame, as you might expect given Joey’s inexperience. Hunter is endearingly careful not to push his new boy too far, too fast. Perhaps too much so. The story doesn’t telegraph much about where the relations is going. It’s never very clear how far they’ll actually go together, until they get there. Hunter’s past provides the main external drama to the story. The book would probably hold up well enough without it, but it does help balance out the plot and move things along with the relationship.

Joey has always believed himself straight although never really enamoured with sex. When he meets Hunter however, he finds feelings awakening that confuse him. Hunter has been a daddy since his 20s and his boys have always been much younger, until he meets Joey and strange urges begin. Initially I thought that this book was going to be a replay of Pixie. However, once it got going it became a true love story that involves emotional awakening and touching romance. A nice segue into a new series.

This a great beginning to a Ballsy Boy spin off. Joey is so confused about how's he is feeling but I love that he is so open minded and accepting of all his discoveries. His character is written so beautifully and compassionate. And Daddy Hunter is so patient and loveable. They are perfect together...so sweet, sexy and supportive of each other. I can't wait to read the next one.

Einen Kameramann jedoch kann er schnell besetzen. Ausgerechnet Joey, der jahrelang für Bear gearbeitet hat, zieht ebenfalls nach Las Vegas. Hier hat er Familie und seine Eltern brauchen ihn, seit bei seiner Mutter Demenz diagnostiziert wurde und sein Vater mit der schweren Situation nicht klar kommt. Also kehrt Joey seinem alten Leben den Rücken zu und kehrt nach Las Vegas zurück. Bear ist ihm behilflich und Hunter greift natürlich zu, als Joey sich bei ihm bewirbt. Denn Joey ist ein ausgezeichneter Kameramann, der auch schon einige Preise gewinnen konnte. Für Joey ist es einfach Arbeit und die vielen Sexszenen, die er schon geflimt hat, lassen ihn relativ kalt. Denn Joey ist nicht schwul. Eigentlich weiss Joey gar nicht so recht was er wirklich ist oder was er will. Denn mit Frauen läuft es auch nicht so recht und die richtige Frau hat er auch nie gefunden. Jetzt ist er etwas über vierzig Jahre alt und Joey hat sich damit abgefunden, dass er wohl alleine bleiben wird. Dass Joey nicht schwul ist, das lässt Hunter erstmal nur staunen. Doch für ihn zählen nur Joeys Talent und seine Gewissenhaftigkeit. Und Hunter mag Joey, dessen submissive Natur er jedoch sehr schnell erkennt. Mit der Zeit werden sie Freunde und Joey hat viel Expertise, die Hunter beim Aufbau des Studios und der Rekrutierung von Akteure nur helfen kann. Daddy ist ein großartiges Buch. Liebenswerte Helden, interessante Biographien und eine entzückende Liebesgeschichte, die sehr ruhig und langsam verläuft. Denn Joey muss seine wahre Natur erst erkennen und sie entdecken. Und auch Hunter lässt sich auf diesen Weg ein, der für ihn so nicht vorhersehbar war. Denn Joey ist kein Junge, sondern ein lebenserfahrener Mann in seinem eigenen Alter. Wer nach viel heißem Sex und verrückten Szenen sucht, der ist bei diesem Buch falsch. Obwohl die Geschichte ind er Pornowelt spielt, ist sie erstaunlich harmlos geschrieben. Natürlich gibt es ein paar wirklich heiße Begegnungen und viel Witz und Anzüglichkeiten. Aber der Fokus liegt auf Joey und Hunter. Und da Joey ja erst seine Sexualität neu entdeckt und von Hunter, der echt sehr geduldig ist, lernt, dauert es eben seine Zeit. Mit gefiel, dass die Helden schon etwas älter sind. Und mir gefiel es, wie die Autorinnen ihre privaten Probleme aufgegriffen und neben der Scheinwelt der Pornoindustrie, auch die Alltagssorgen der Menschen thematisiert haben.

That's a good book to star a new series, and I hope it doesn't take long to have the secon done! Well done ladies!!

I loved Ballsy boys and I was so glad to see a spin off the series happening. I loved Joey and Hunter, they are perfect for each other as they navigate their relationship as well as building the new studio. I loved how it intertwined. I enjoyed meeting all the new faces as Joey and Hunter meet them, and seeing old faces as well. I can't wait to see what the future brings, for them and the rest of their new family

Another great story to start a series spin-off from Ballsy Boys. With family issues plaguing him, Joey, the straight cameraman of Ballsy Boys, packed his bags and moved on to Las Vegas. Coming with high recommendations and work that speaks for itself, Hunter hires him immediately and asks for help setting up his new studio. The way their relationship bloomed is what pulls you in to the story. It is one of self-discovery, surviving guilt and acceptance that will make you unable to put the book down. Can't wait for the next installment to the series.
