It was recommended because it is easier on their backs then the wheel, but my hamster didn't take to it. Otherwise was a great product

The media could not be loaded.  My hermit crab, Sebastina, absolutely LOVES this wheel. Video is from the first day we got it. She was still learning how to use it. Tilt-a-whirl! Since then, she much more calmly walks on it all the time. ALL. THE. TIME. It’s need a few weeks and she doesn’t seem to want to stop! I was concerned she was “stuck” in an endless loop at one point, not knowing how to get off, but she wasn’t. I’ve seen her get off to eat and drink several times, but she’s still on that wheel 70% of her day. In the wild, they can walk for miles on end. She loves this wheel and is a happy crabber!Note: this wheel is perfect for hermit crabs as it’s all plastic - metal is toxic to hermies. Also, the disk shape is perfect when compared to the typical rodent wheel as hermit crabs can get too big (wide) for those.Highly recommended!

I just got this yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. I bought this for my little lizard. I've seen ones specifically marketed for reptiles made out of "heavy duty" stuff for $50+. So I wasn't quite sure what I was going to get. Well, this is great. It's nice and sturdy, the wheel spins nicely and quietly. I'm so glad I bought it! I highly recommend. I might get a second one for my other lizard. Now I just have to wait for my lizard to try it ;-)

This is a very quiet wheel. Perfect size for a dwarf hamster and easy to clean.

Had to replace a wheel after purchasing a glass cage for our mice. We needed something free standing that wouldn't tip. My only request was that it did not squeak like the former wheel, since it was in a child's bedroom and the mice are nocturnal. This fit our needs perfectly and the mice seem pretty happy as well!

I’ve bought sooo many hamster wheels trying to find one that quiet. Anyone who has had hamsters knows that they run ALL night long and those wheels can be noisy in a quiet house. This wheel is perfect. Other than the sound of our hamsters feet on the wheel, it’s very quiet. I highly recommend this! Do not waste your money on the other wheel that claims to be silent.

Little hermit crabs love this. They’ll be in their shell all day then come to life once they get on here

Great wheel my hamster loves it!! The only thing is it is not a quite as I thought it wood be, just because my hamsters nails are tap tapping on the plastic when she runs. It fits great in her cage!
