Burton Men's Gore-Tex Mitten + Gore Warm Technology
L**Y
Well-made, But Not for Sub-Zero Temps
These mittens have well-constructed shells, with good draw-string closures, zippered pockets for warming packs, and a gore-tex lining for waterproofing. They come with liners that would make good gloves by themselves. The problem I encountered was that the liners are relatively thick and bulky and use up most of the available insulating space within the shell. Additionally, the shell insulation was somewhat thin and ineffective. This combination rendered the mittens unable to keep my hands warm in temperatures below mid-30s fahrenheit. I did not try them with warming packs because I wanted mittens that could do the job without resorting to requiring them. Based on their construction quality and design, I would have no problem recommending them for temperatures 35 degrees and above, but not for anything more severe or frigid. Additionally, I did not try them in wet conditions so I can't comment on their performance when wet.

Does not keep hands warm
The basic concept of a mitten, as opposed to a glove, is that your fingers "share" heat, thus keeping them warm together. So, whoever thought the technology of using a glove insert inside the mitten was a good concept got it ALL wrong.I walk twice around our block every day, 15 minutes each time. Today, I walked using my normal gloves. By the time I got around my fingers were cold.I switched to these mittens. Not only did my fingers get just as cold, but now it was even worse. Normally, in my gloves, I can curl my fingers together in a fist in the palm of my glove to warm them up a little bit.Since my fingers are "confined" inside the glove of the mitten, I completely lost this ability.Definitely not worth $65 dollars.Maybe if you make the liner a mitten as well?

NOT Burton Quality
Snowboarded 2x and the stitching is failing. The stitching at the tip of the middle finger on the left handed glove has separated. It's coming apart, so now gortex doesn't matter because moisture can now come in freely. This glove is the one that I use to unstrap my boot so I can go on the chair lift, so it's used the most. The crappiest part is that it's been 6 weeks since it shipped and it can no longer be returned. That's crap. Should've purchased through REI.

Great for icefishing and fishing low temps
Bought these gloves for ice fishing and fishing cold temps. The zipper pocket allows for hand warmer packs which is a godsend for ice fishing and just fishing in the lowest of temps. The interior gloves inside the mitten itself are wonderful, especially for fishing. I can take my hands/gloves out of the mitten and tie hooks, change lures, put on bombers, etc. I personally didn't know those interior gloves came with the mittens but am very happy it did. Mittens themselves get warm sometimes I'll add a heat pack to interior gloves and put another in mitten zipper. Been out a few times now in single digits and temps in the teens for 8 plus hours. Am very satisfied so far.

Pretty good if you get it on sale
I wore these several times in around 20 degree fahrenheit weather. Sometimes it was windy as well. They are ok, but my hands are never quite warm. I wear them with the included liners, which are a touch small for my hands in the large size. I feel like my hands are always just slightly cold. The features like a wrist cord and cinches are nice, and the quality of the product seems good, but I would have expected more if I paid $75. I bought them for $50, and I feel like the performance warrants about half that value. I would rather have warmer hands and less features than the product as it is.

Hands Stay Warm Always
My hands do not ever get cold while skiing. Of course it is a little bit of a pain because they are mittens and you lose dexterity because your fingers are not separated. Very easy to slip the mittens off, punch the phone screen and then because of the lanyard, quickly slip them back on.If there is moisture in the glove whether from sweat or snow sneaking in after a fall it doesn’t affect the warmth. My son in law pointed out the zippered pockets on the back of the glove can be used to hold your RFID card for the chair lift. No more trying to get whatever pocket of my jacket close enough to the reader to work. I did not feel the card the entire time it was in the glove pocket either.

Awesome Mitts
Mitts Look Awesome. They feel great and the touch screen capabaility works pretty well. Get ready to type one thumb only. Trying them on the mountain this weekend. If I don't leave a followup review, that means they performed great.Only complaint is the tags. Jeez, Burton. Way to make the itchiest tags ever. I had to cut them down extremely close and burn them back so my wrist wouldn't itch every second.Other than the tags, which really is nbd, these are awesome.

Blown away impressed!
I haven’t taken them on the mountain yet, but let me tell you I am extremely impressed with these mittens. All of the mechanics make sure the glove is on as tight as possible with straps on hand and wrist after on. The mechanics are amazing and make it very easy to tighten and loosen while wearing gloves too. Plus the pocket to be able to put hand warmers in is a huge plus. As well as the inner glove has sticky lining which I love so it sticks in the mitten for better control plus for your touch screen phone. Would highly highly recommend these gloves to anybody!

Great, buy very thin insulation.
Nice product. But...Hardly insulated. Good for the West Coast. My 30$ Kombi's bought at Canadian Tire provide better thermal insulation.Good for spring. Rated for mid-winter, but not up to the task. Not here in North East anyways.I expect better from a Vermont Based company. I would not go to Kellington in "mid-winter" with these.Otherwise a great product.

The gloves are NOT touch screen compatible
I spent a lot of time debating whether I could justify spending $75 on mitts, and after finding these ones, I decided to give them a shot. After all, they bragged warmth, and I could remove my hand from the mitt, and still have the glove on and be able to use my phone. This is NOT the case. The touch screen compatibility was one of the biggest selling features for me and they don't work at all. If this is a feature you're looking for, look elsewhere as they are falsely advertising this feature. Either that or mine are defective..They are moderately warm and it has been -50 C where I live lately so I'm not going to waste time returning them, but for $75, I'm not very impressed.

Ripped in Less Than a Month
The seam ripped on the right glove next to the wrist strap after less than a month's use (probably about 6-7 days on the slopes). I'm currently dealing with Burton's customer service, but they're requiring that I pay for shipping for warranty service - that will add about $30 to the cost. Even if they fix it, no way it gets 5 stars. Otherwise I liked the gloves.

Very nice and quite warm but fragile
Had great hope about it :)They are warm and look nice, the sleeve is long enough, well thought product design in general. The main reason for the 3 star review is that after 2 weeks of use they start to wear out (see pictures). So in the end it’s expensive for the quality.I was glad because it’s a great vegan option, but not resistant enough. I didn’t do anything super intense with them, only shoveling snow 2-3 times max with them.

Very comfortable
Of course I ordered these too late because the cold weather has pretty well gone away. They are very comfortable and can't wait to see if these are as warm as they promise.
