Excellent and concise guidebook; just some very minor drawbacks.
Overall, I loved this book. It was concise, easy to read, and very inspiring for someone currently in an active UC flare. However, if a second edition of this book ever comes around, here are the changes I'd like to see:1. The author doesn't go into much detail about his own path to healing.I would have liked to see a few more anecdotes about how the steps he has laid out in the book directly affected the course of his UC. For example, the author advises a radical change in diet for those with UC. However, he doesn't specifically explain how this diet affected his own healing. How long did it take for his UC to relent after he changed his diet? Are we talking a few months or are we talking a few years? This book makes a good point of reminding the reader that every person heals differently, but it would be helpful to know the author's own healing timeline. The author also recommended some natural supplements, but then doesn't really explain in much detail how they affected his UC.2. Why was the FMT even mentioned? The author mentions an FMT procedure very early on in the book — but then dismisses it as unhelpful. I'm not sure why the author included this anecdote. If it was meant to be a humorous story about his desperation to heal his UC — then the anecdote succeeded on that front. But many UCers *do* have FMT procedures with success or seriously consider having them. The author should probably not give the FMT story its own chapter and heading if it's just meant to be funny.3. The author mentions his meditation/spiritual practice. Again, I would have liked to see a bit more detail on *how* exactly the meditation practice affected his UC. How long after taking up meditation did the author see improvement in his UC? I don't mean to sound impatient about healing, but it would be nice to understand how long the healing process can take.4. What is the author doing now to maintain health? It was a bit unclear to me if the author still follows the same strict diet that he followed to achieve health. Does he currently never drink, never smoke, never eat restaurant food? Or has his health allowed him a little more leeway? I ask because while I am happy to do anything it takes to heal from UC, I would be a bit sad to never EVER go out to eat again or have a fine glass of wine. I'd like to know if a *healed* UC gut can handle the occasional "vice".

INSPIRING
MatanFirst of all I think you are really gifted in writing, the way you take the reader through the journey of your experience it’s so well done. I felt engaged in discovering your process and I find it courageous how you opened to tell your story.I’ve read many books on Nutrition because of the problem I had with the Bacteria Helicobacter Pylori and I never crossed a book as complete as yours. Very well documented and complete, You touched so many areas that are so important and at the end all those advices in every aspect of life are so relevant and true. Really loved how you showed a 360 degrees cure, it feels like you gave so much hope through those pages!

Excellent read!
Simple, great book, organizing knowledge into workable plan. Awesome writing, light and fluent. My husband is now reading it, and enjoying as well. I started applying the rules (most of them) and already feeling better. I think the greatest gift of this book is an inspiration for one to start his own journey to heal together the strong notion that real change require action, or actually, series of actions. I highly recommend this book, I am planning to buy it for friends in need.

Read this book!!
Just finished this book and I highly recommend it! It provides great advice and practical tools on how to improve our overall health through nutrition. Everything you need to know about what gets in your body is in there. I wish this was something that I was taught earlier in my life. If you feel like you want to become a healthier and more conscious eater, reading Gut Rules would be a great way to start.

Great read that will definitely improve my life
Heard about this book from a friend of a friend. I have to say I was pretty skeptical at the beginning, but this book was such a wonderful surprise. It is a down-to-earth, well written, insightful journal for a healthier and happier life. Matan's journey is pretty remarkable, and a total eye-opener. It motivated me to make some changes in my own life as well. I honestly think I feel better already, and it's been only a week..

It's was like divine answers to all the questions that I had
The book that I always looked for but was fearful of getting prejudiced by wrong informations and over thinking a simple thing.Introspection is the only way out, the biggest healing force is within us, any medicine can only assist it. health should happen from within. I take a bow to the author for sharing such a valuable experience.
