These socks are fairly comfortable and tall enough for boots as they hit about mid-calf. The tube sock design makes them a bit tight to pull on but they are warmer than regular athletic type socks. Even after the first wash the stiffness didn't seem to get easier to put on. I take a size 12 shoe so if your shoe size runs in the higher end of that "9-15" range claimed I'd be skeptical, especially if you take a wide size. Otherwise I have been happy with the comfort and warmth. Don't expect these to replace actual heavy duty winter socks for skiing, hiking or just being outdoors all day. Good socks at a fair price.

I do not recommend buying these socks. They are scratchy and not thick at all.

While the weight and weave of the socks are acceptable, they are overly restrictive in the calf area for any full size male. I would say that after the first washing my 13 year old son could wear them, but even his 21 year old brother would find them restrictive, and I could not comfortably do so even before washing them.

My husband is thin and these were too tight
