love them!
I really love how honest and clear cut Lennon is. I also love how Ollie got the short end of the stick with his hero worship of his older BF and ended it only to find Lennon and see what real love was. They were perfect.

Moral code helps to save one but sacrifice yourself! Love is holding onto to each other while others tear you apart - moving story!
Fake Boyfriend Series by Author Eden FinleyI almost missed this great series - college romance, sports & Rockstar tend to be "missing/lacking for me" but I kid you not this one is 100% worth the purchase! I would buy all 5 books because they are stand alone but you'll fall in love with the characters and you'll be dying to know all their stories. I swear each book was like a chapter, I couldn't wait for the next. It was linke binge watching. This series is so binge reading. 📚Book 1 Fake Out - What some peeps will do to get out of a bad relationship when the other will not accept a breakup. Yep Maddox comes out as Gay even though he dated her for years. He can't go to his ex girlfriend. His best friend Stacy convinces her brother to go with him Maddox as the fake boyfriend. Damon an openly gay professional retired baseball player & now sports agent.Book 2 Trick Play - Matt a clost gay football player, one night & his world changes. Damon his new agent and trying to save his career. All "non discrimination" unless its an image & negotiations. Now he has to sell a solid relationship so he with Damons friend Noah to sell it.Book 3 Deke - Ollie a famous Hockey Player hides his sexuality to his fans. His family knows & he had a relationship for 4 years "clost". The ultimate on come out or im gone hits. A fake date "Clark" Lennon is to prove he has moved on & dating. The hurdles to keep a sports reporter n a athletes secret?Book 4 Blindsided - NFL players are known to party & play the field, a gay player not so much. Talon has a crush on his best friend & has not seen him in years but a recent draft puts them on the same team. Friendship & crossing the line too high a risk.Book 5 Hat Trick - A Hockey player Soren comes out of his closet for his longtime boyfriend but Ollie another NHL player takes the heat off him. He tries to make it work but coming out for his boyfriend was not going to save the relationship. A one night stand is the one that got away what do you do?That stories you connect with the characters, they have obstacles that are relatable. They have fan base, contracts on the line & being openly gay in athletes is toxic.M/M romance.@my2centsbooklover

Fake boyfriends, reporter/athlete trope, entertaining
Hockey Romance? Count me in!Deke is the third book in Eden's Fake Boyfriend series and the last with the fake boyfriend trope itself. And it covers Lennon and Ollie's story to love.Lennon showed up at the end of Trick Play, while Ollie was first introduced at the end of Fake Out.And how their fake relationship comes to be? With a spur of the moment idea! Ollie is being nagged by his family to come out of the closet. In the NHL there are no out players and Ollie fears coming out would effect his carreer. That already broken his last realtionship. At a family dinner he meets a cute guy in the bathroom and somehow they end up spending the night pretending they are together in front of his family. And yes, if you were wondering that guy is Lennon... though Ollie doesn't know his real name.Lennon is a sports journalist. The last person Ollie should come out to, but he doesn't know that. And Lennon is not about to out someone! And that's how, six months later, when the truth about Lennon's profession comes out, Ollie freaks.Ollie's struggles with and fears from coming out and losing hockey which he really just wants to play is a powerful storyline. Add the stifflingly supportive family who pressures him and the fact that noone has come out yet in hockey and it is an obvious choice to hide who he is from the world.Lennon as a gay sports reporter suffers the same discrimination and prejudice as Ollie fears. Shouldn't he be writing fashion instead of sport? And all he wants is to normalize gay man in sports. And Ollie. He wants Ollie too.Their dance around each other, fighting their attraction is sweet. Lennon's support for Ollie is admireable. Ollie understanding and rearranging his priorities for the first time is amazing to see. And the family ribbing, friendly banthering with their friends and family is very enjoyable. All in all, I adore this story as well in the series! Why? Just because. It's sweet, lovely, hot and honset. And just makes me feel good even affer three rereads!

So Good
This was my favorite so far! Ollie and Lennon are so good together, and the humor is on point! Points for Lennon having a backbone of steel, and Ollie recognizing what healthy compromise and relationships are supposed to look like! Can’t wait to read the rest!

Another great book by great author. Ollie is sweet as can be. I appreciated that Lennon and Ollie actually communicated what was in their minds. Maybe not immediately but not to a point to be angsty.

That there is my issue. I’m happy, but I’m not complete.
Gosh I absolutely love Ollie and Lennon. Another brilliant meet-cute followed by a short fake "date"/"relationship" to help keep Ollie's family off his back and these two shouldn't have lasted but fate pushes them together time and time again and despite their seemingly big differences, there is something between these two that neither of them can ignore. Loved loved loved it.

Deke (Fake Boyfriend Book 3) MM
Lennon is a sports journalist, in Chicago, he’s just starting out in his career. He is out and proud, but very low key. He has been hurt twice in exactly the same way by two guys in his early teens. He has always been attracted to Jock types. So when he walks into the Gents at a restaurant, he is taken aback by a gorgeous guy, who is talking to himself.Cutting a long story short Oliver invites him to share a meal with his family in the restaurant. He agrees, and introduces himself as Clark. (With his black glasses and looks, he looks like Clarke Kent). Also he’s fed up of jokes about his name, Lennon, some even go so far as to call him Beetle😂.Oliver Stromberg is an Ice Hockey star in New York. He is deep in the closet because of his career. In fact he broke up with his boyfriend Ash, who he has been friends with since school, plus Ash is the best friend of Max, Oliver’s older brother. The reason for the break up was Oliver’s reluctance to come out for Ash. So, Ash got fed up having to sneak around in public, so he found someone else.Oliver has a huge close family, with 5 brothers, many of them involved in sports, MMA, Sports Therapy, Max is odd one out, he has his own Tattooist Business and Ash is his business partner.I think Max and Ash has something going on, hidden for sure, besides being best friends and business partners. Even though Ash has a new boyfriend. This story is all about homophobia in Sport and why people have to hide that part of themselves or wreck their careers, even suffer abuse from their teammates. There are a couple of new side characters here Jet the musician and Caleb another Ice Hockey player who might get their own story. Jet is an interesting and quirky guy, I like him and want to hear his story and how his career is taking off. Some of the MC’s from earlier books in this series feature here too, Damon, Matt, Noah.Oliver and Lennon have huge chemistry and affection for each other and they fight for their relationship.Worth the read for them and their friends. Looking forward to reading “Blindsided” next.

5 stars
Loved this book, full of fun and sarcasm. Plenty of spice, friends looking out for each other in the face of adversity (press, bosses and bigots). Ollie's family should have their own series they were so funny.

Ollie and Lennon (Clarke) 🏒💙
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥/5🌶️🌶️/5I absolutely LOVED this book!!!You always read stories of being outed and they have ridiculous story lines or they are going really good until something completely stupid screws the whole story but this, this was perfect!!Starting with Ollie’s family who are incredible! The closeness and openness is much like my own so I was able to relate to everything from their conversations to the family jokes, like forever calling Lennon Clarke!Lennon was a sweet bloke who has a lot of respect and morals for men like himself and despite being a sports journalist, he would never ever out anyone when it comes to their sexuality. He was incredible with Ollie and everyone else he came into contact with. What he chose to do in the end for Ollie made it all worth it.Ollie himself is sweet, kind and has a big heart and throughout the book you got to see that in many ways. The way he decided to come out was pure selflessness and amazing to see the sportsmanship of the situation. He truly deserved everything he got in the end and it made me incredibly happy!I would 1000% recommend this book to anyone!
