Good value. Cut a bit odd.
I usually take a 30 X 30. I bought the 30. The inseam is long, about 32". They don't seem to have adjusted the general cut to smaller sizes. The cargo pocket falls at my knee instead of on the thigh. It's large. The fit on the thighs wasn't snug, but wasn't roomy either. If you're a 31-inch waist, you may want to go up a size. The material is fairly thick and was warm on my winter hike. The rear pockets are so generous that for a moment I thought I had lost my wallet. Good for keeping a map in. I guess it's extra insulation for your butt if you sit in the snow. The belt is well designed and you can work it with mittens on. It is so long that it wraps about another 3/4 of the way around my waist.Overall, it's a good value for winter hiking pants.

Better than expected, though I use them as general purpose winter/work pants not ski pants
I didn't know what to expect when I ordered these. I wanted winter pants that offered good wind protection but weren't too bulky baggy. I'm 6.0 tall, 34 inseam. I ordered Size 34 and they fit perfectly. They look good enough t wear into town but so far they are durable enough to work outside cutting brush or playing with the kids in the snow. They are stretchy, so they're quite comfortable when bending and kneeling. They are wind proof and very warm if you wear another layer under them (like long underwear. sweatpants would be too bulky). The only thing I don't love about them is that the narrow ankle does let snow into the top of regular boots, but I won't deduct a star for that because these are supposed to be tucked into ski boots.

The best winter-weather pants ever!
6 stars! These pants let you walk fearlessly, and comfortably, in all weather, even in the kind of driving sleet that turns from rain to ice as it pelts you mercilessly. The inside fleece means you don't need long underwear even when its below freezing, but the pants are comfortable up to around 50 degrees or so.They're not completely waterproof; after hiking in driving rain for an hour the seams get wet and inside gets damp. But I think applying seam sealer would solve that minor problem.

Very nice, but the size seems a little off.
The pants seem to be well made and are very comfortable. I tested how water repellent they were before and after washing and it was very good with no signs of absorbing any moisture. I typically wear a 38 waist and order a 38, which was too large. I exchanged it for a 36 and the waist and length were perfect. They didn't shrink after cool washing and hang drying. I would have rated them a 5 except for the size issue. I haven't used them for fishing yet, so time will tell how tear resistant they are.

Good product
I got the ones with zippered rear pockets. I live in Seattle area. My goal was water repellant and a bit warmer then regular rain pants. True to size. These feel like sweats on the inside. Decently tough on the outside. Ferla like sweat pants in weight department also. Insulation was perfect at 20-55 degrees farenheit. I have been in heavy rain for hours on a hike I did. Pants held true to water proofing. Wash without detergent or one designed for waterproof clothes to keep it this way. Regular detergent is no good for any kind of waterproof gear. Over all comfortable. Light feeling for having thermal lining. And feel well built, zippers work well also. I want to try the sweats one as soon as my hiking/walking budget allows. For reference. I own rei, 511s, helly keller northface and many other quality hiking clothes. These are decent and suprising quality feeling. Holding par with name brand. I recommend definetly. Only thing I cant say is longevity over seasons yet.

appears well made and warm
I ordered my normal size. It fits well over my mid-weight base layer and fuzzy jogger tights with room to spare in the waist. I do like the belt that came with the pants. Looking forward to trying them out in Yellowstone in a few days when the daytime temps are around 15 degrees. But they seem like they will be warm and perform well. After my trip I'll post a final review.

Good pants, but zipper fly comes undone.
The pants overall are pretty decent and fit well. However, my issue is that the zipper did not last hardly at all!! Did not need to wear the pants much until it got really cold out (I live in WI - so it can get very cold). Within the first 2 weeks of me wearing these pants several times, I started having issues with the zipper. After a month, the zipper pretty much stopped working all together and will not stay zipped. I am not overweight nor did I stress the zipper somehow that would have "broken" it. It just simply did not work very well. Frustrating because I can no longer return since I am past the return / exchange time line.

Air dry only (gross) and tight fitting
Tight fit around things and little room at knee. These won’t do for hiking. Also these can only be air dried according to care tag. That’s gross. Hiking pants soaked in sweat and then not dried with heat of clothes dryer will become a science experiment. Disappointing purchase.
