Great solution and price
I obsessed over some other more expensive brand name versions of this kind of product and settled on and this has worked out splendidly. I usually carry two bikes and it does the job fine. It would be nice if it used some quick release buckles to make mounting and unmounting a little quicker but it works just as advertised. I have a Ford Ranger with a regular sized bed and a low profile tool box mounted on the front of the bed near the cab which shortens my already short little truck bed so that I can't really used any of the upright mounting systems. I also didn't want to have to screw with removing and reattaching front wheels since I'm mostly driving short 10 or 15 minute trips for greenway and street rides and this was a perfect solution. I don't leave it on all the time but will leave it on for a few days at a time when I know I've got rides planned so hopefully it won't get too weathered. I think it'll hold up long enough for me to feel that I've gotten a good value out of it. I usually carry a couple of bikes with no problems. I imagine that I could probably cram three or four if I really wanted. You might have issues with keeping the bikes fully upright. They do tend to lean especially if you've got racks or other accoutrements that might tip the bike off balance but I've found that I never have to worry about them actually falling into each other or my truck. I use a couple of bungie cords strung between my bed hooks and the bikes which seems to work well enough to keep them from flopping around too much on high speed bumps or sharp turns.

Works just as advertised
Great product, works just as advertised! Easy enough to install and stays on. I put it on my truck early summer and left it on all summer, never got loose. It is a bit of work getting it on and off, but that's life with straps! Bikes stay on well enough without using the top straps that secure the bike to the pad, I'm sure they work fine, but I never used them.I've had it for 9 months, was on the truck outside all summer, and it still seems sturdy enough to last many more seasons. If you just want a simple pad to protect your truck, then I would recommend this one.

Works well and easy to attach
It fits our 2014 Toyota Tacoma well and the Velcro straps hold the bikes securely to the pad. We also use bungee cords to secure the back wheel. Go ahead and order extra Velcro straps because you'll lose one or two of the ones that come with the shuttle pad.

Perfect for my 2019 Honda Ridgeline and 2 E-bikes
Very easy to take pad on and off. Strapped on two large & heavy e-bikes and drove 70+ miles on highway with no issues whatsoever. Fastened each bike with two velcro straps. Probably could've used just one each and the bikes still wouldn't have moved. Bikes fit very securely - no worries about scratching the tailgate. Awesome product.

Protects tailgate from bikes but scratches paint like wiping with dry paper towel
Bought this Softride tailgate pad 54" which fits perfectly on my 2011 Honda Ridgeline. I used it to haul two 29er mountain bikes and does protect the gate from side to side. However, though the pad protects the tailgate from the bikes themselves, the backing of the pad itself caused micro scratches on the tailgate's paint. I only use the pad while hauling bikes then remove it afterwards as suggested by the seller. Unfortunately, it still scratched the paint regardless. I suggest putting something between the pad and the tailgate, something like bath or beach towels otherwise this pad will scratch your tailgate like wiping it with dry paper towel.

Best Bike System I have Used
My wife purchased me of these for my Christmas 2011. At first I was very skeptical. I have owned several bike racks, and it seemsthat the only ones worth buying are way overpriced. Installing is easy, but goes quicker if you have an extra set of hands. Thereare several straps that wrap around your tailgate to hold your pad in place. After installing, I have just left it on. It comes withplenty of Velcro loops that goes around the bike to hold it securely onto the pad. It works as described, and is so much easier to loadthan any other bike rack that I have used (this is my 3rd, all of different varieties). Having to remove my front wheel seemed to be theworst of the designs. It literally takes less than 10 seconds to put the bike in the truck and secure it. I have not tried it with 6bikes, but it seems that they should fit. The nice thing is that it does not matter the design, whether it is a hard tail, FS, DH, or anyother bike.. all of them fit.I have (accidentally) hit railroad tracks going way to fast, and the bike held perfectly secure and upright even with the truck going airbornefor a second. I am sold on the product. For the price point and convenience it does not get any better than this. As far as durability, Ido not know how long the product will last. It seems to be made out of very thick weather resistant material. At this price range as long asI get about 5 years out of it I will be very happy.

Failed after only a couple months
I thought this would be a great product. I got it on my truck and it worked great for a while. I bike a couple of times a week, so I just leave it on my truck all the time in the summer. After a couple of months of being in the UT sun the straps that hold the pad to the truck became brittle and literally broke. They didn't rip, or get cut, or tear, they broke when I took the pad off one day to wash the truck. Now I have a pad with no straps. Useless.

Works as described
I have had this for about a year and it works fine. The only issue is occasionally I have to realign it by moving up higher on my tailgate, but would have to do the same with any of the pricier brand models. For the money, I highly recommend it.

... what it's intended to do and fits the Ridgeline fine with 4 bikes
Does what it's intended to do and fits the Ridgeline fine with 4 bikes. It would be nice if the underside was fabric rather than vinyl. It gets dirty when on gravel roads and scuffs the paint. I'll be using a blanket under it this year.
