What are the actual dimensions of the crossmembers?

It will vary depending on the roof pitch. It will be 22" on a 6/12 roof pitch and will decrease to 20.75" on a 12/12 pitch.

Will this work with the mr. longarm brands of extension poles sold at hd?

The answer is no, in testing the Longarm is too flimsy and allows the RodgePro to unscrew. We only recommend the Wooster Sherlock R057, available at most Home Depots for under $40.

Does this require screws for use?

It's okay for a quick trip up the slope, but if you are moving side to side or spend more than 15 mins working, I'd use screws to bolt it down.

what is diameter where extension pole attaches ?

The male end of the RidgePro measures about 0.7 in. across. The RidgePro accepts the locking Sherlock RO57 pole that expands from 8 feet to 16 feet. If this pole is purchased separately elsewhere, the threaded tip will need to be removed by taking out a Phillips head screw or rivet. This will provide a hollow receiver at the end of the pole, that's just slightly larger than .07 in. across. It will fit snugly over the male end of the RidgePro. A hole for the hitch pin may also need to be drilled out of the pole. The RidgePro can be purchased on Amazon with the pole already modified.
