I needed something low profile and this was the only box I could find that would clear my space. However, the combination is VERY SMALL and the box itself seems like it could easily be broken into. I was using this to cover a garage opener for a air bnb so I think people will be respectful, but I do believe it would not take much for them to break into it. May be wrong, but it does meet my criteria for low profile.

In our large household someone was always too hot or too cold and would just go hit the thermostat until they were happy. Unfortunately, that behavior created an unwinnable battle that was also wasting money.Even though everyone had been told the temperature range...repeatedly...and everyone was told to leave it alone...repeatedly...both verbally and with notes on the thermostat...repeatedly...the battle continued and after extensive investigation, I’d narrowed the culprits down to two: “NotMe” and “IDon’tKnow”...neither of which even live in my house though apparently they are frequent visitors.I paid extra to get the StatGuardPlus large plastic thermostat cover in the brush nickel because it wasn’t clear and it doesn’t give them a chance to perfect a way of using something to poke the buttons. Battle over!

You get exactly what is described. Went in a under 10 minutes. I used it on three floors in my hotel and now the guests do not get to play with the floor thermostats. Problem solved.

It felt nice and sturdy out of the box, but once installed, it's kind of "rickety". I was interested specifically in the hinged door. I care for an Alzheimer's patient and I'll need to get in and out of it quickly, so the ability to flip it open & close it quickly was important. But the hinges are really kind of useless. They don't actually hinge. I have to hold it in place or it falls off. Because of this, the cover is loose and feels like it could just come off (if not for the lock catch). I'm going to have to rig the hinges somehow. It looks like a nice quality cover, but it doesn't feel like it.

Love this cover. No one can see the thermostat at all. So if they see 78 and they are warm, that goes away. Only one thing I’d like to see is a tighter fit.
