Wizard 5 Auto-Tune Laser Line Metal Detector Wand

I was skeptical at first, as I'd bought it to find hidden metal in some old "reclaimed" wood. Took a little practice, and it really likes "new" 9v batteries. It also has sort of a "sweet spot", which if you know where that is and learn how to use it to your advantage, will definitely allow you to find a hidden screw, rusty nail or topped-off staple in old pieces of 2" thick lumberI didn't try it on anything thicker as what I had was all all dimensional 2x wood, some of which was just slightly thicker than 2". I suspect a larger and more powerful "coil style" detector might be needed for 4" thick lumber, reclaimed heavy beams, etc, however with a little care this worked quite well with old hard yellow pine lumber in the 2" thick range.Found many old "pockets" as well where nails had long since rusted out, leaving behind iron dust, so I was able to gouge those clean before hitting them as well. Worked quite well for my purposes, a real saw blade saver! I suspect it will work well for your needs too.

First product ordered was missing a part. Returned without problem. The new one was fine and works great. I use it to scan for metal in wood. Just for fun I scanned my wife as she had chest surgery & is wired closed. It detected them. It was a good laugh.

Works ok, not nearly as good as a garret. Misses small nails in reclaimed lumber

Well so far I haven't really used it, other then just playing around with it, but I have lots of rough sawed and used lumber to use it on, I'm sure it'll work awesome on everything I'll need it for and then some:))))

Just one nail in maple wood and you will pay for the Security Wizard 5. I had and early one that I was using and it finely quit working, should have replaced it. The new Security Wizard 5 work even better. Could have save a expensive blade.

I thought the device worked flawlessly. They had nails in a piece of wire buried in some Oldewood and found it I’m happy.
