I bought this wirestripper after picking up the typical, and cheap, aluminum wire stripper from Home Depot. The SA200 was the same product the instructor used in my electical wiring class. The cheap one was clumsy and dull, while this one has a razor sharp edge and replacable blade w/ adjustable depths. It includes a knife for trimming excess insulation and a stripper for removing the insulation on the internal cables. This a great buy for the do-it-yourself person in your family, and it's a must have for the electrician.

Cheap and Cheap for a reason. It's built well but Like others have said in their reviews, The blade doesn't really work well enough for smaller wire. The blade slips right off and you may get6inches before you have to readjust. But for flat or bigger cable wires ot works GREAT. Mainly for electricians NOT FOR SCRAPPERS

I have used this model for years. When properly adjusted it will slice the jacket of NM 2 conductor just enough to remove it without nicking the conductor covering. I have also used it on 3 conductor NM with no trouble. Again it must be properly adjusted. The blade on old one I am replacing was just little dual so I decided to replace it. On a whim I tried another fixed blade model that had high ratings, but I like the easily adjustable blade on this model much better.

Right out of the box the plastic adapter broke off. I tried to strip longer pieces for a ground grid and couldn't do more then a few few at a time. The blade moved both left and right of the wire due to the shakes wobbly construction

I will make this short. It works and works very well when set at the correct depth which is easy to do. Once set, the insulation just peels off the wire and never takes a chunk out of the wire or cuts a strand. I wished I had one of these a long time ago. I would have saved a lot of headache removing wire insulation. If you don't have one of these, get one.

I used an exacto knife before I bought this wonderful tool. I needed to split the jacket on several hundred cable assemblies for work and this thing did the job incredibly. It cuts through 72 inches of multi-conductor cable jacket with one sweep. I must have done 150 cables to-date and the blade is finally showing signs of wear. Just dial-in the jacket thickness and run it along the cable. The blade is adjustable and replaceable, with one extra in the handle. Made in the USA!!!!
