Nice assortment, well packaged and reasonable cost.
First, I've 'done' electronics both as a hobby and a profession for over 60 years. My personal "bench stock" of small parts had dwindled to the danger point and I had to order a lot of components. I had ordered from "Joe" previously and was impressed with the quality of his assortments. While it's not likely that any semiconductor assortment is likely to contain anywhere near all the parts I need, this one does have a nice selection, and I augmented it with some other parts that I've recently ordered (there's extra room in the box).In fact as soon as the box arrived I used 3 of the Shottky diodes to repair the metering circuits in the Heathkit LG-1 (tube type) signal generator I was overhauling. The original were germanium diodes (not Shottky) but they were a good sub and the unit calibrated well.I may not every use every component in the box, but it's a good selection and augmented with the additional parts I put in it will fill my needs nicely. Eventually (as more money becomes available) I'll probably buy a couple other semiconductor assortments that Amazon offers.NOTE: I didn't need the little basic electronics booklets that were included in the kit, but I perused them and found them full of good information for the beginning electronics buff.

Nice assortment of leaded components
So this product occupies a space in (IMO) a dying field in electronic parts with leads. Most of us "old guys" have been dragged kicking and screaming into surface mount components. At first, they seem impossibly small and hard to work with, but over time, and with proper tools, I prefer working with surface mount parts. So why, on earth, does one purchases components with leads? Well, the answer is tinkering and breadboarding. There are days when a retro bug bites, and I want to whip up a quick little prototype without having to run a quick PCB. Yes, solderless breadboard type stuff. This is where Joe Knows comes in - they make several leaded component kits, and do a reasonable job of choosing parts that are commonly used for low speed/low frequency work. I've purchased a bunch of these kits for my son (who is on his way to study EE), and a few for myself just to have handy for when the quick prototype bug bites. If you know anything about the actual price of electronic parts in quantity, you will protest when you look at the parts cost in these kits, but my time is worth money, and I'm willing to pay someone to curate a set of common parts, bag them up in a nice little box, and ship them to me quickly when I need them. Joe Knows does a great job at this, and have no hesitation recommending them. 4/5 starts only because I think they can further improve the selection of values in the kits, but as they are today, these are great little assortments of parts that are becoming harder to get as the years pass.

Very Nice Kit
This vendor has several excellent component kits. The ones I have received (I am still waiting on the Potentiometer Kit (3 Types, 3 Knob Colors) have all been packaged in very sturdy boxes and zip-lock bags. The boxes and bags make excellent storage containers as they keep like components together and facilitate finding a particular component. The price for the kits is very reasonable considering the quantity and variety of components you get. I am very satisfied with the products. I have purchased the following kits: BJT Transistor Kit (24 Values, 1160 Pieces), 1/2W Resistor Kit (86 Value 860 Pieces), Semiconductor Kit (320 Transistors & Diodes), Capacitor Kit (33 Value 645 Pieces), 1/4W Inductor Kit (49 Values, 680 Pieces), and the Potentiometer Kit (3 Types, 3 Knob Colors).

but the selected lots I tested and counted are perfect, and all worked
Everything is here just as described. I didn't count it all, but the selected lots I tested and counted are perfect, and all worked, but as with anything you may find a faulty item here or there, but so far I didn't and I ordered All 3 sets from Joe Knows! He puts it all nice and neatly together and saves you money by saving your time from having to look for things, and it takes up a very small amount of space. Thank you for putting this great collection together and categorizing it very nice and neatly for me. Highly recommended! Shipped extremely fast!

Perfect Kit for those who want to learn and experiment
If you know exactly what you want or need you probably wouldn't be buying this. So with that assumption...The assortment is fantastic. I had a project in mind and a general desire to be able to experiment and learn. I had nothing more than an idea of what transistors did. After reading the small booklets describing the general differences in the types of transistors and diodes and looking up the datasheets (They give you a link) They gave me exactly what I needed to create and understand the H-bridge I needed for a project me son and I are building.I can't comment on the exact value of the transistors contained within this kit if purchased separately.. but having what seems to be a pretty good pre-selected assortment AND the simple intro booklets is actually EXTACTLY what I needed.Nice jobGood job
