CitraFirm Facial Oil
I was not super keen on this product. I just used a few drops and found that it felt greasy on my face. It didn't seem to sink in or get absorbed. I am not used to wearing oils though so for someone who is, it may be just fine. The product photo shows a gray bottle but it is a yellow liquid in a bottle with a dropper dispersal system. I did run the ingredients through a cosmetics checker and they appeared to be safe. Also they did not appear to cause fungal acne or clog pores. I think if you like oils this may be a good choice but I just didn't find it felt good on my skin.

Sickly addicting
This wonderful oil goes a long way!! It’s slightly fragrant in a soothing way. I caught it on sale during Mother’s Day!

Price hike by $30?!!!!!!
The product is good but a $30.00 increase of price is way too high to make it affordable any longer.

Creative "Face" Oil Branding; Absorbs Beautifully, Not Greasy, Added Fragrance
What is up with skincare makers coming out with a rash of semi-pricey bottles sized under an ounce? Unless it is an eye cream, I usually expect a dropper to be at least 1oz. But the Exuviance CitraFirm FACE Oil is sold in a 0.91oz frosted glass dropper for about $55 at the time of purchase. Anyway, per their posting: "This elegant oil concentrates CitraFill plus a blend of Vitamins F, A, C, and E and light botanical oils to target visible signs of aging, supporting skin's natural collagen and lipid barrier for a firmer look. 4% CitraFill, a non-acid Citric Acid compound, supports skin's natural firming collagen. 4.5% level of Vitamins F, A, C, and E condition skin and defend against environmental stressors that can accelerate the look of skin aging. [Contains] Seven light botanical oils, including Rosehip, Apricot, Cranberry, Marula, and Argan, deeply nourish skin, targeting the skin's lipid barrier to restore a feeling of suppleness. Formulated for all skin types, including dry, lackluster skin or skin experiencing a loss of firmness. Non-irritating, dermatologist tested." I appreciate Exuviance providing some idea as to the percentages of the quadfecta of highlighted ingredients. Many manufacturers don't. Ingredients: I did include some of the common terms for the chemical names in (parathesis). Jojoba Esters (jojoba oil), Prunus Armeniaca (apricot) Kernel Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Ethyl Macadamiate (ester and fatty acids derived from Macadamia ternifolia seed oil), Helianthus Annuus (sunflower) Seed Oil, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (cranberry) Seed Oil, Sclerocarya Birrea (marula) Seed Oil, Triethyl Citrate (ester of citric acid), Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil (argan oil), Linoleic Acid (F, fatty acid), Rosa Rubiginosa Seed Oil (Rosehip), Retinyl Palmitate (vitamin A from palmitic acid and retinol), Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (vitamin C, stable and oil-soluble), Linolenic Acid (F, another fatty acid), Tocopheryl Acetate (vitamin E), Phenoxyethanol (preservative), Chlorphenesin (preservative), Caprylyl Glycol (conditioning agent), Parfum (fragrance). Pretty short, easy to understand list of ingredients, which I like. Many of the oils in this bottle are skin-friendly for those with oily, combination, and acne-prone/congestion-prone skin too. Yeah, oils can be beneficial for those with oily skin, too, by helping balance out sebum production. I have mature (over 40), sensitive, combination, acne-prone skin. I've been incorporating more oils (both in specially formulated double cleanse washes and facial oils) into my skincare the older I get. They can be very nourishing. And in terms of breaking up make up and SPF, when using them in a double-cleanse then following up with your regular cleanse, for example, it is amazingly effective. While you might frown at the use of preservatives, this oil blend would go rancid pretty quickly without it. You likely already know what powerhouse antioxidants A, C, and E can do for the skin. But, what is F? Vitamin F is a term for two essential fatty acids (lipids) — alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and linoleic acid (LA). They, too, act as an antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. Vitamin F acts as a ceramide when used on the skin, a hydrating ingredient that protects the skin's barrier and retains moisture. Ceramides (lipids), which are natural to the skin, help create a barrier to prevent permeability. They lock moisture into your skin, which helps prevent dryness and irritation. Thus, Vitamin F is best introduced into the skin with oil-based serums like this, rather than water-based topicals. It is safe to use alongside moisturizers, anti-aging products, and SPF. The pale yellow facial oil is extremely lightweight, watery-runny, and applies and absorbs beautifully into the skin. Not greasy, sticky, or tacky. I would call this a "dry" oil blend, given how effectively it soaks into the skin without leaving a sheen. You do not need more than 2-4 drops. Patch test first, small, elsewhere on the body, to ensure suitability and no adverse reactions. The last thing you want is contact dermatitis or hives, if you are especially sensitive. So far, as someone who is sensitive to most things, this has been fine. I am, however, disappointed they would add fragrance to facial oil. Why? What purpose does it serve? It could smell like nothing, and I'd be thrilled. Why am I annoyed? For one, some people are scent sensitive. While this isn't overpowering or offensive, the added fragrance can also provoke physical irritation in those with sensitive skin. But it seems many other users adore the scent, which is a subtle herby and floral. I'm just not one of them. In terms of when to use this in your skincare routine: Wash (I double-cleanse with an oil cleanser to break down SPF and makeup, then and water-based one to rinse it away), tone, mask (or) serum (or) ampoule (or all of the above), followed by heavier creams and moisturizers, then facial oil. SPF follows in the AM. Sidebar: Everyone should be donning sunscreen, rain or shine, year-round, regardless of age, gender, skin type, or tone. It is far cheaper and easier to prevent UV-damage and premature aging than it is to treat it. So, find one you like and slather it on regularly. I digress. Facial oils are applied ON TOP of your moisturizer, not under it. Not sure why the maker suggests use under the moisturizer in their instructions. Facial oils do no inherently moisturize or hydrate your skin. Instead, oils create an occlusive seal to help contain the moisture barrier the rest of your skincare has provided. Oils can condition skin, but they only retain water. They don't add to it the way serums and moisturizers do. Some people prefer to apply it under, which inhibits the moisturizer's effectiveness and therefore is counterproductive. You will still glean the nourishing benefits from your facial oils, even if they are atop a moisturizer. Is it worth it? I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars. Depends. Exuviance CitraFirm FACE Oil has a seemingly suitable formulation of vitamins/antioxidants and a great texture. The bottle, while smaller than standard, is vanity pretty, and functional. I dislike the "added fragrance" aspect of the oil. If they had a fragrance-free version or didn't adulterate the natural scent with an added one, I would snatch it up. However, you may love this facial oil, as is, for the texture and use and not care about the smell. It doesn’t linger. I hope you found my information helpful.
